its tough, because all captains are captains for a reason.

in my mind, a captain should be talented, the hardest working, vocal, determined, brave, and willing to drop the gloves to stick up for a teammate.give momentum, this is why i think mike richards is going to be a great future captain

so probably iginla, sakic, doan, morrow

Yzerman for all time. Sakic, Lidstrom, and Sundin currently... I'd also say Brendan Shanahan is one of the best alternate captains.

Brendan Morrow. Though he is still very new to the role as captain, he certainly stepped it up as a great leader for the Stars even if they did lose in game 6.
