Well if you want to get techinical on the women's side it would be Margaret Smith Court, but in my opinion from what I've seen I say Steffi Graf, and she's been my idol since I was a kid. But in this generation for me it's Serena Williams, hands down.

As for the guy no ifs ands or butss it's Federer, some would say Sampras, but Pete was good on everything except clay. Though Rogie hasn't won the French yet(which he will this year) he can play and be succussful on all courts. Plus Rogie is 2 slams away from surpassing Sampras' record of 14 slams, which he will break this year and practically destroy it and set some serious standards for years to come. On the men's side it's Federer.

The best hey ? I will have to say Pete Sampras. He was No.1 for a record of 286 weeks, consecutive. 64 titles in total including 14 grand slams, 5 tennis masters cup and around 10 atp shields. Federer will be second. 12 slams, 54 titles and 4 tennis master titles and around 11 atp shields.
