  1. Martina Navratilova: The woman won her first singles titles in 1974 and won her last title in 2006. That is 32 years between her first and last titles. Who wins a grand slam just shy of their 50th birthday ? No one but Martina. She won 18 Singles titles in Grand Slams, 31 doubles titles in slams and an additional 10 mixed doubles Grand Slams. (her first slam; a mixed doubles title at the French in 1974 and her last with Bob Bryan at the U.S Open in 2006). For the longevity alone I give the honor to her. She also won 9 of the 18 times she played Steffi Graf ( definitely not a slouch )

  2. Sharapova

    Venus/Serena Williams

    Cavaday

  3. 1. Steffi Graf

    2. Margaret Court

    3. Martina Navritalova

    4. Chris Evert

    5. Serena Williams

    6. Venus Williams

  4. unfortunately I am not old enough to know that much about Steffi Graff...except that she was amazing at tennis

and I do believe it is close between Graff and Navratilova

first off I can say its not Henin or Sharapova

Sharapova will win a few more grand slams but will not accomplish what Graff or Martina did

and for Henin...she was a sore sport and QUIT when she was number 1...she was upset that she had started to lose and was afraid she couldnt win another French Open...she was scared and no one in there right mind would ever QUIT in the middle of a Grand Slam final...that is what some people dream to do and to accomplish and she gave it all away.

but the best women ever is either Graff or Martina...Marinta loved the net.....steffi loved her forehand....and its close to call

    P.S

if monica seles wasnt stabbed...Steffi would have had a lot harder time winning some grand slams...Monica was not just physically hurt but emotionally hurt as well.

    P.S.S

and I feel that Graff could beat the Williams today but not Martina...the williams would overpower martina when she is at net but Graff could find away around their power to move them around and take control.

  5. Shavapova

    good at serving

    good looking

    once a 1 seed player

  6. Martina Navratilova(forgive the spelling) and Justine Henin

  7. Martina Navratilova, you could argue for Margaret Smith Court but she played half her career before the Open Era and her competition wasn't as good.

Navratilova's monstrous consistency, Slam Finals and Slam Wins are just mind blowing.

Steffi Graff played during her time and was almost as good, it's very hard, I narrow it down between Graff and Navratilova.

The difference is Navratilova also won numerous Doubles and Mixed Doubles Slams on all the surfaces, but Graff won the Calendar Grand Slam in the same year she got her Gold Medal at the Olympics, almost impossible to do, you need a luck of chance, she also did the 3 of 4 additional 4 times, that's 5 years she won at least 3 of the 4 slams and she held the record for most consecutive weeks as #1 male or female until Federer broke it.

  8. No doubt is Queen of tennis - Steffi Graf.  Winner of 22 grand slams.  She had held the no.1 position for almost 8 years.  She's  the only female player to have completed a "Golden Slam" within a year (in 1988, won all four grand slam and an Olympic gold medal).  She's the only player (male or female) to have won all four grand slam at least four times (7 Wimbledon, 6 French Open, 5 U.S. Open, 4 Australian Open).  And she had won 107 singles titles.  Therefore in my point of view, she is the best women tennis player of all time.

P/S: Her hubby Agassi is the only male player to have complete a "Golden Slam" (not within a year).  He won Wimbledon 1992, U.S Open 1994, Australian Open 1995, Olympic Gold Medal 1996 and French open 1999.  They are really a matched couple, don't you think so?
