Who is the cheapest gas and electricty supplier at the moment??uk?

I'm with British Gas and was 130.. which to me seems astronomical..

eat lots of beans and you will be, actually not that far from the truth, there is a system where a small methane generator can be bought, that does turn all waste material into methane gas, when burned it does give off a lot of heat.

I am with Scottish and Southern  which hasn't gone up yet..  Probably will though.  I have been with most of the suppliers at one time or another  but came back to Southern  as I like them the best.  Far superior to British Gas  in their dealings with you.   Found  B. Gas very offhand and arrogant.   Big factor is  where is the customer service dept..  In India or similar  or here in UK..   You dont get the same service from Asia.  They dont understand and they dont care.

British Gas, even with the recent hike, they seem to be the best bet. And I have found their service second to none. Home grown people - had a boiler problem this week - were on the doorstep within two hours of calling.

Go to uswitch.com.    Feed in your last year's consumption and they will show you the comparisons and you can switch off the website.

However all the suppliers are putting up their prices at the moment so you will get false comparisons while this is happening.

The suppliers are paying chicken with each other to see who can be the last to put up prices to reap the benefit of all the switching - but lose out on charging extra to all existing customers!    

Usally the cheapest is to go dual fuel with Direct Debiting, but check all options before deciding supplier(s) and payment method.

We are with Scottish Power and we are happy enough with them, prior to them we were withBritish Gas and were very unhappy , in fact they still owe us money £370.00. which we will never get back...The other companies I have no idea about...hope this helps
