in this moment the president is Dr. Oscar Arias Sanchez.. this is his second presidential period. the first one was since 1986 to 1990. something important is that or C.P. does not allow presidential reelection, his used a "hole" in our law and he found the way to be legally allow as a presient, again.

please, don't take care of the comments from the two first guys that answered you. It's true that oscar arias is not the best president we have ever got, but, it's imposible say that he's the worst!, and nobody can accuse him  to use "dirt money" to pay his presidential campaign.

Something that it's real is that he is donating his salary to poor people, but... he really doesn't need that money!.. arias sanchez  family is the richest and most important family in this country... so you can agree that his salary is not really important for him

the president is callled Oscar Arias he won a noble peace prize in the 80's and he is a Harvard Graduate and one of the best if not the best president the country has ever had. He donates his whole president salary to the poor because he doesnt really need the salary. He cares for the people.

Yes,the president of Costa Rica is Oscar Arias,but HE didnt won the Nobel...It was COSTA RICA, the country, because all central america was in a civil war, and we were the only peaceful country.

Oscar Arias is not THE best president!! totally the opposite!! He won the elections by buying the vote of homeless people, with drug money!!

But no one know that!

He is by far, the worst thing that can happen to Costa Rica!!

And he donated his salary to the poor people cause he was doing points to win the elections to sign the new treat with USA that lets the USA government to get in here and do whatever they want!!
