The greatest Indian Cricketer of all time  are Mr. Kapil Dev (Best  Alrounder, World Cup winning Captain) , Mr. Sunil Gavaskar (All time best Test Batsmen) & Sachin Tendulkar (ODI Batsmen)

The greatest of them all Kapil Dev. fantastic bowler and more fantastic batsman. No one else compaares with him. Sachin and mr gavaskar are only good/outstanding batsmen  but Kapil is the best allrounder.

having read a couple of books on him, i'm leaning towards Kapil Dev, mainly cos he came thru a system that literally told him "you cant be a fast bowler in India, we dont know how to train you as one" (no i'm not trying to stir trouble, i got that line out of a book he wrote!) and proved himself as a world leading fast bowler and a handy batsman and a captain good enough to lift the World Cup

Sunil Gavaskar also rates a mention as 2nd and Tendulkar 3rd (Test records are equally good, Sunil getting the nod as better cos he never had sides to make cheap runs againist, such as Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, Tendulkar is a mile better in ODIs but tests, to me, are what matters)
