I can think of 3 i would put up there.

1.Teofilo Stevenson- no U.S fighter could beat him and he won 3 gold medals.

2. Laszlo Papp- Great Hungarian 2 time gold medalist.

3. Mark Breland- 110-1 avenged his only defeat to Daryl Anthony with 3 round ko in pros.gold medalist.

  1. i agree pretty much with that list, but cassius clay had a 100-5 amateur record.

  2. me....of course

  3. Mark Breland

  4. ROCKY!

  5. Great list Frank.

Actually, Laszlo Papp won 3 gold medals-1948 London (middleweight) - 1952 Helsinki (light Middleweight) - 1956-Melbourne (light middle) Also another feather in Papp's cap is he beat the great Jose Torres in his final Olympic competition. Papp's record-W-27 - D-2  -L-0

Stevenson was another gold and amateur great, with a career record of - W-302 - L-22

Also one could add on this list Felix Savon - Won 3 olympic gold medals. 6-World Amateur championships (and 1 silver.) 3-gold in the Pan American Games. And 3-gold in the Central/Caribbean Games. With a career record of - W-362 - L-21.

  6. Frank youve named good men, the cubans pretty well take most of the honours in this one, Felix Savon is up there,Breland's has only an 18-0 international fights, which six are at the 1984 Olympic Games

  7. Don't no his name bt the cuban fighter who beat mir Khan to take gold at the last olympics must be one of them

  8. Its got to be Mark Breland.  Stevenson was great and is probably number 2, but nobody and I mean nobody completely dominated their division the way Breland did.  Guys were purposefully avoiding the New York area just so that they wouldn't fight him.  I would also have Felix Savon in that list as well, but Breland is by far the number 1 guy in my eyes.
