  1. Eddie Charlton

  2. willie mosconni

  3. Efren "Bata" Reyes (born August 26, 1954) is a very popular Filipino billiards player, considered to be one of history's greatest practitioners of pocket billiards (pool), especially the games of nine ball and one-pocket.

In the eighties, Bata Reyes started playing in the United States, mostly as a money player. By the nineties, he was winning major tournaments against top players in the U.S. In 1995 he won 6 major events, and at the time was considered the best 9-ball player in the country. He continued to win major events through the new millennium and has proven himself to be one of the best players to ever pick up a cue--especially in nine ball. In 2001, he posted unprecedented tournament winnings of just over $200,000.

Then in 2003 he was inducted into the Billiard Congress of America's Hall of Fame.

In December 2005 Reyes won the International Pool Tour's King of the Hill 8-Ball Shootout. Reyes won an unprecedented $200,000 for first place by beating fellow Hall of Fame member Mike "the Mouth" Sigel in straight sets.

Most recently, Reyes won the 2006 International Pool Tour World Open 8-Ball Championship over Rodney Morris. At $500,000, this was the largest prize money tournament in the history of pocket billiards.

  4. having watched Masconi play on several occasions I have to wonder how anyone who can play themselves can think that what era anyone played in had the slightest effect on how good they are.  Willy ran hundreds of ball one day outside while talking to a crowd and his efforts have never been duplicated in tourneys  to think that just because there is a new crop around who know which end of the cue to use in no way puts them in his class.  Rudolph Bonduron who stole the name Minnesota Fats from the movie the hustle was a cheap mouth and only a decent player.  His mouth won him more games that his skill.  Cowboy Jimmie Moore mopped the floor with him in a "quiet game" which I watched and Masconi had a standing offer for him which he never accepted ... 100,000 bucks one game to 150  Rudolph who spells his real last name four different ways never accepted that offer because he would never have gotten a shot unless he broke.  Hardly any of the current crop of shooters can play 3-rail and almost all of the old guys were good at that and snooker.  To suggest that anyone is better than willie based on stats and information from people who were there is to do him a disservice.. he was and is the man  the best match possible would be Alison Fisher and Willie  now that has class
