OPEC countries (No, not only the middle east - it includes the USA too) and the oil industry of course.

Unless they get taxed on their profits by the government - an impossibility in the US - we are probably going to be seeing the biggest profits in history by the American refineries. So I suppose Mr.Bush and his friends in the industry are going to be very happy this year.

We'll still be polluting the atmosphere at the same rate, so the greens won't be happy. Can't think of anyone else.

I would have to say that all the gas companies are the happiest

because they get paid even more because the prices go up.

I would also say that millionaires are happy because they can still afford the gas and it makes them feel special that they are the only ones able to afford gas at a high price.

Al Gore.  He's invested in so much going-green companies, that as gas prices increase, it forces more people to come up with more efficient ways to use resources.

Aside from that, I think everyone is somewhat unhappy - because everyone uses gas. To those who are super-rich, it doesn't mean much, but most of us aren't super-rich.

Person, I would say organization of countries, i.e. OPEC.   You control the supply the demand will inflate the prices.
