  1. Wladimir Klitschko IBF is all that matters

November 4, 2006 June 2, 2007  Shannon Briggs WBO American

April 15, 2007 present  Ruslan Chagaev WBA Uzbekistani

June 2, 2007 February 23, 2008  Sultan Ibragimov WBO Russian

February 23, 2008 present  Wladimir Klitschko IBF & WBO Ukrainian

March 8, 2008 present  Samuel Peter WBC Nigerian

  2. Right now, there is no heavyweight champion.  What we have currently are three heavyweight titleholders:

    WBA- Ruslan Chagaev

    WBC- Samuel Peter

    IBF and WBO- Wladimir Klitschko

Klitschko is currenly considered the number one guy right now, with Peter as the number 2.  In order for the linear and true championship to be claimed, the top 2 contenders must face each other.  Klitschko and Peter have fought once before with Klitschko winning a decision, but the circumstances are completely different now- if they were to fight a rematch now, the winner would give us the first true and linear heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis retired.  So, in short, there is no heavyweight CHAMPION, there are only three TITLISTS, and in order for there to be a champion, the top 2 contenders must fight each other (which means a rematch between Klitschko and Peter)

As for why there are so many Europeans- they simply are working much harder than any of the Americans are right now- at least in the heavyweight division.  You must also keep in mind that the slums that they come from over there are literally like h**l.  They work hard to fight their way out of the slums and it has been obviously paying off for some of them because three of the four belts are owned by eastern Europeans from the former Soviet Union.  There are also slums over here in the U.S., but the difference is that once a fighter from the ghetto starts to get some money, he becomes lazy and stops doing what he did that originally got him to the top.  They get a false sense of security- they think that just because they've worked their way out of the ghetto, they can just relax and stay on top, but it couldn't be farther from the truth.  With the Europeans, they realize that they must keep their work ethic up and not lose sight of what got them to the top.  They do not want to go back to living in the slums of their homeland, so they train extra hard to make sure that they will stay on top.  Eventually there will be another American heavyweight champ, but its just a matter of how long (which could take years), and who knows- David Haye might become an English heavyweight champ if he is successful at heavyweight.

  3. Ruslan Chagarv WBA Heavyweight champ

    Sam Peter            WBC Heavyweight champ

Wladimir Klitscko  IBF & WBO Heavyweight champ

    Vacant                     Ring Heavyweight champ

  4. There i no ONE champion right now

Sam Peter has the WBC title

Ruslan Chagaev has the WBA champion ship title

Wladimir Klitchko has the IBF and  WBO Titles

You can make an argument that Klitchko is the main champion because he has a win over WBC title holder Sam Peter.

And Ruslan Chagaev got his title from Nikolai Valuev, who in turn got it from John Ruiz who got it because James Toney was stripped after easily beating Ruiz because they said he tested positive for steroids. So instead of making it Vacant they gave Ruiz his title. So right now the WBA has no claim to anything.

So if you want to nail it down, the most established champion is Wladimir Klitchko....and thats just sad..

LOL how can someone give a thumbs down to a correct answer?? I just listed facts.... yea, give a thumbs down to facts...your a smart one.

Unless your disagreeing with my Klitchko as champion is sad comment. But....well it is pretty sad when a guy who has been knocked out by Corrie Sanders,Lamon Brewster and has no chin and was terrified to trade punches with the little light hitting Sultan Ibrigamov. He was also kncoked out by an ex, washed up football player who didnt pick up boxing untill he was like 30 (ross purrity)

Oh yea and Corrie Sanders was fighting once a year, was white, fat, and out of shape and spending most of his time golfing.

PLEASE!!!! GIVE ME A REAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION.

Because in Russia they take the sport seriously. There is just no really good American or Canadian Heavyweights right now.

The good news is, the division is open for another  exciting Tyson type fighter that can come through and train wreck the division. We just gotta wait for him.

Wait till David Rodriguez gets up there, I can see him beating all the champions out there.

Oh and Tough guy I know your the one using your multiple accounts to give me thumbs down.  Its funny a guy who doesn't know anything about boxing to give thumbs down to a guy who does. Bravo
