It doesn't matter because the oil companies bought up all the Hydrogen patents and technology.

Do you mean technology for the production of hydrogen, or technology for the use of hydrogen as a fuel?  If the latter is it transportation fuel or fuel for stationary sources?

Here is a list of publicly traded companies that deal with hydrogen/fuel cell technology.  To be honest, I have no idea who has the best tech out of these, but it's a starting point at least.  

Most of these companies are small, start up type of companies, so they may just have an idea they're trying to get working instead of actually producing something.
