  1. I would vote for Mother Teresa if she were still alive - although I didn't know her personally.

Of the people that I know personally, it would be hard to say, as I don't know the details of their finances....

Bill Gates seems to be trying to make a big difference with the money that he has.

  2. Myself. I donate every month to the Demelza House Children's Hospice, The Pencil Projects, and buy 3 toys a week for a whole year to save up for Toys for Tots in December, I recycle Christmas cards, and have encouraged others to do the same, I have a raffle at my 4th of July picnics to raise money for charity every year, I promote Stickers For Kids, and Coins for kids, and even have the men at the post office saving their coins for me. And I won't stop there, charity is my life...it's what I love best about it...giving.

  3. I hate to sound like I'm bragging or something, but I think that would be me. Honestly, *none* of my friends volunteer, and I generally have 2-4 volunteer projects going on at any given time. I try to get more of them interested in volunteering, but nobody's really interested. ("No time.") I have a number of charities I donate to yearly or monthly as well. I think all of this is because of how I was raised, with my parents really emphasizing helping others.

However, if you're looking at it in terms of monetary value, that would be my parents. They make a lot more money than I do (which at the moment is none, since I'm not working!) so can afford to donate a lot more. My "charity" is more in the sense of volunteering than monetary donations.

  4. I would not fall into the fatal error of bragging about my own acts of charity...

So, I would have to say children are more charitable then adults anyday. They give and share their toys without such adult conventions as "loans, bartering, favours, resentment". They share happily just to see the other children playing with their toys. Adults rarely share anything anymore without thinking about what the person owes them, or when they will get it back.

Of course this is a generalization... I think the vast majority of children are exceedingly more charitable then the vast majority of adults, with exceptions of course.
