Who is the most controversial Nascar driver?

If you are talking about past as well as present, I have to go with the consenus here.  Tim Richmond.  With all that he accomplished, NASCAR (nor anyone else) never pays tribute to him.  I think NASCAR was embarrassed by him.

If you mean active drivers it seems to be Kyle Busch.

I agree with everyone who said Tim Richmond, and also with their reasons. Everybody talks about what a great driver he was...except NASCAR.

Given his illness (AIDS) and the talk over how he got it, his image (even before he contracted the disease), and NASCAR's banning of Tim.  I'd say he would be the most controversial driver.

probably kyle busch but it changes from year to year, it was Dale, then it was Tony, then it was Kevin harvick, and it was robby gordon for a while... but at this point in time i would have to give my vote to kyle busch

With that name, I can only assume you are g*y. Jeff Gordon was married years ago, divorced, and is married to a beautiful model, and they have a little girl. You only wish those cool guys were g*y! Jerk.

Shane Hmiel. First he flips Dale Jarret the bird after an incident at a 2005 Busch race at Bristol, then gets himself kicked out for life due to drugs.

Maybe Tony Stewart.  What other driver has slapped reporters, tells NASCAR to go **** themselves, and GoodYear where they can shove their tires.

I agree that Richmond, was probably the most controversial all time however, if You are talking about the present, I would have to go with Kyle Bush or, Juan Pablo Montoya.

Bush, I can understand. He is Young, Cocky and, worst of all...WINNING!

Montoya, is harder to figure out. I know that He came from F1, is from COLOMBIA and, has an agressive driving style but, I just don't get what it is that makes Him so unpopular among the fans. it can't just be His driving style. Dale SR., drove that way and, even though I was a Davey Allison fan, I really enjoyed watching Him race. h**l, two years ago, if You were caught in front of Jimmie Johnson, You had might as well take it to the garage. can anyone enlighten Me on this?!!!
