  1. Hardly any Batsmen on debut have set the world alight in this decade other then batsmen who started out before the year 2000.

I would say maybe Ian Bell of England,  Jamshed of Pakistan,

Alisitair Cook maybe? but i dont rate him that highly as he only scores  50s  & 100s here and there and against c**p bowling and is not consistent or spectacular.

Jayawardne of Srilanka? i dont know if he debuted in this decade.

However i would say the most exciting and influence Batsmen has to be Shahid Afridi because he scored the quickest 100 or 50 on his debut, is still playing till this day when few  said he wont last with his technique but has proved them wrong, also can bowl as any internation bowler, is good looking and makes cricket exiciting.

Did you People know that the formate of 20/20 came about because of Shahid Afridi? this is not made public because they belived this to be irrelevant but when the England Cricket Board were discussing Cricket it was mention that Shahid Afridi is an entertaining player and cricket needs more of them players and someone came up with the 20/20 format so there can be more Shahid Afridis, this is true, said in this local cricket magazine, forgot the name but i think it  was my local town name and cricket but anyway i bet most of u never knew that,  the 20/20 at high level would not have exisited now if somone did not mention Shahid Afridi, amazing isnt it.

For me the most recent, and most influencing batsmen is Ross Taylor. I love watching him bat, because his technique is beautiful. He fields really well and he has so much potential.
