  1. Michael Jordan or Dr. J...

  2. DR J!

  3. Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing.

  4. I think it's Chris Paul. Why?

It's because Paul can step up in critical situations during the game and can lead his teammates all over. He also has a good sport. And because of this attitude, Paul became the "Rookie of the Year' in the 2005-06 season and became a MVP candidate for the 2007-08 season. He also led the Hornets to the Western Conference Semifinals. He is just an amazing player.

  5. Grant Hill or Alonzo Mourning...look what they been thru and there still there.

  6. larry bird.

despite his lack of athleticism, he became one of the greatest players of all time through sheer will and determination to be the best.

  7. Josh Howard.

  8. Honestly, I think it's Derek Fisher; so he isn't the greatest player out there, but he's there day-in and day-out. He's got heart, and passion for the game. Like that game a few years back where his daughter was in the hospital and he came in with 2 min. in the 3rd quarter and hit a pivotal 3 to help them win it. Not to mention, he made the greatest shot of all time (IMO) the shot with 0.4 seconds left.

And this guy under me who said Chris Paul.

Not even close, he'd rather bowl than play in the NBA, he said it himself. Try again.

  10. Good question, since there have been so many good players in NBA history, and different people get inspired by different players for various reasons.  The player who has been the most inspirational for me is Earvin "Magic" Johnson.

Watching him play when I was growing up taught me how to play the game the right way - that is, he taught me that the game is a team game.  He taught me that you need your teammates to win, and that you have to try and make them better.  Magic was the consummate team player.  Not only that, but he had such a winning attitude.  He wanted to win so badly, and would do whatever it took to win.  His competitiveness was a real inspiration to me.

Most importantly, Magic loved the game, and always had fun playing it.  You could see that everytime he was on the court, in his attitude and his huge smile.  I learned from him to always have fun while playing, and to both love and respect the game.

All of these things inspired me when I first started playing basketball, and they still have an influence on my game today.

In addition to all of this, Magic has been an inspiration to me even after he contracted HIV and retired from the sport.  The way he handled himself, his attitude towards life, and all of his many accomplishments off the court (rebuilding inner cities, being a successful businessman, educating people on HIV and AIDS, etc.) have inspired me in ways that no other NBA player has ever done.

  11. I can't believe no one said David Robinson

He was a great guy on the court, but he was a greater person off the court. He held many Charitable events, and he doesn't even do it for the Publicity. He has always been a Respectable man, you never see him give bad interviews or nasty comments. You never hear anything bad about him, he's never involved in Cheating on his spouse, or having Gambling Problems, Unlike other dumb athletes. I truly respect David Robinson, real talk.

  12. reggie miller. why? pacer fans didnt really appreciate him in his first few years, but through determination and perseverance and some miller time pacer and other fans adored him.

  13. Gilbert arenas , his high school coach told him he would not get any minutes at the university of arizona and he was right for the first season gilbert didn't but he worked hard and got himself a starting positon in the line up . After all he went through he was selected in the 2nd round of the nba draft and he wasn't happy about it so he went out there and practiced and practiced and practiced shot thousands of shots each day and wears the number 0 so he knows what people used to think of him and that his gotta go out there every night and fight   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_87VZAAg...

  14. MJ..

  15. To me, it's Moses Malone and Dikembe Mutombo.

Moses played for 21 years and was still one of the top centers in the league until his last 2 years.

Dikembe is still playing now (since 1991).  Although he's only a shell of his former self, he still does all he can.  Look at that 22 games win streak!

I'm only 26 and I can't even play basketball with the "kids" anymore even though I was a high school star, all-american, 3-star recruit for the U of Arizoan.  I wish I had even half of Moses's or Mutombo's strength and endurance.

Mutombo also inspires me because he's built schools, hospitals, and is the face of his nation.  He speaks 5 languages and actually has double degrees in linguistics and diplomacy.

He's incredible.  I wouldn't be surprised if Mutombo becomes the president of Congo someday.

  16. Magic Johnson..cause he was one of the best players.. and he's now one of the most successful business man..

  17. Definitely Michael Jordan

  18. Kareem
