Kimbo and Anderson Silva as most overrated.  I know I know Why A Silva?  

Not saying he is a bad fighter he is one of the best in the world but the stupid pound for pound status that is being thrown at him is an outrageous claim.  Especially since he has been beat 4 times.  Silva knows it that is why when anyone asks him about it he just says no comment.  

Most underrated?

Alex Emelianenko many people look at his record and say he has lost to cro cop, but you have to consider the fact that he was only 23 fighting cro cop at his peak.  His other losses were against Werdum and Barnett and he was only 24.  He also spent 3.5 years in Russian prison before he went into mma, losing valuable training time.   It is a shame he did not get the chance to fight for affliction.  He would roll over the entire UFC now, the only one that can challenge him would probably be Nog.

Kimbo Slice is by far the most overrated. He is all hype. He has won some fights, but has he faced anybody who the UFC or Affliction would even consider allowing to fight on one of their cards??? Also would like to say that Bisping, who has only fought two top tier fighters and lost to one (Evans) on decision and should have lost to the other (Hamill) in a decision is overrated. Cro Cop is overrated, he hasn't looked good since entering UFC.  But most of all, Kimbo Slice is way overrated.

I'm going to catch some flak for this, but I think Randy Couture is by far the most overrated fighter, perhaps in the history of MMA.  He has not proven to be able to beat the best of the best on a regular basis.  He has mediocre at best striking skills.  In the last six years, he is a very average 6-5.  In that time he lost to Josh Barnett, Ricco Rodriguez, Victor Belfort, and twice to Chuck Liddell.  In his  six wins, he never finished anyone in the first round.  Just go and look at his fight videos, then come back and tell me why he should be considered so special.  It comes down to name recognition, just like there are so many people who think Kimbo is the second coming.    

I ask a question in return, what has Couture done to deserve his reputation.  If he gets the fight he wants against Fedor, he is going to get hurt.

As far as underrated goes, I know he is retired, but outside of hardcore fans, I don't think Bas Rutten gets enough credit.  I loved watching him fight.

BJ Penn is not overrated. He beat Sean Sherk, who dominated the lightweights for years. Sherk also had only two losses in his career before BJ, it was to legendary Matt Hughes and soon to be legend Georges St. Pierre. And BJ picked him apart.

Overrated- Matt Serra.

Underrated- Roger Huerta, Sokudjou, and Anthony Johnson.

I have to say maybe Tim Sylvia too, every match Ive seen of his he looks sloppy yet they hype him up alot, is kimbo slice even considered an mma fighter? if he fought a real one hed get his *** kicked in a minute, Underrated Diego Sanchez maybe idk

anderson silva is NOT overrated, even the best fighters lose early in their careers, he is in his prime now and he is unstoppable presently...(which is all that matters)...he doesnt even belong in this discussion...

As for overrated, i gotta agree with the guys who said bisping and randy couture...randy is 16-8, mid 40's, and got beat by chuck lidell twice...now chuck was dominating at that time..but still, you think this guy could even last one round with fedor? cmon...

as for bisping, the guy looks like he is hitting his opponents at 70% in sparring practice...not that i could beta him:) but seriously, give him a real fighter and test this guy, hes getting guys who inexplicably like to turtle up after a half round of sparring....

a few guys come to mind when i think of underrated...

Mac Danzig...this guy could be a force in time...

Jon Fitch - underrated in terms of how he is judged going up against gsp, i think hes got a better chance than people think...

Diego Sanchez - I dont know whos in line after fitch(or what IF fitch wins) but sanchez will give either of them a fight...and hes not talked about too much
