  1. USA and China are the world's biggest polluters and consumers of natural resources.

  2. Currently, U. S. is tops while China occupies the second place. However, unless there is a radical reworking of the world order, in another 20 odd years China will occupy the pride of place and we (India) the second in this ignominious list of horrendous killers of our planet.

  3. that would be America or even possibly India !!

  4. It is USA followed by China, based on the recent study, who are geatest polluters. Industrial pollution has always been associated with industrial development. One reason why developed nations reduced air pollution is partly due to closure of those units in their home country but they aloowed to be set up in developing countries like India and China. Most of the old technology of production emitted more polltion and cost of reducing pollution to the current needs will incur huge cost. So, they set up units in many developing countries in the name of FDI. Atleast this is true for some, if not all.

To me there is one single globally responsible country in terms of environment. It is always associated with cost of development. May be I would think Switzerland, Holland may the best boys in terms of environment, be it in their country or their units being set up in the developing countries

  5. Give the developing countries some slack okay? Right now the UN has given them two missions (a) get everyone, happy, in a home, educated and equal (b) do everything in the Kyoto protocol except carbon credits.

Now I think its ridiculous to go and point fingers at these countries when America, the "world leader" refuses to sign and ratify the Kyoto protocol, its not lack of money, they can do it. They just won't.

India is increasingly being powered on Nuclear power, and is no where up in the stats when it comes to waste per person. No Australia follows that, closely followed by America and Canada. Same goes for China, sure it may one of the biggest polluter's world wide. It also happens to have one of the largest populations worldwide.

  6. China

  7. China with its growing industries are polluting the air and has no concern with other countries.  The  air pollution have  reach the Mariana island in the pacific.

  8. The countries of the so called Developed World where the Industrial Revolution started in Europe and later the Super Powers of which only one remains are the biggest culprit in not taking adequate precautions to check damage to our ecosystem!More damage has been done in the past two centuries than in thousands of years earlier!

  9. For the past 15yrs technologically...n...industrically stabilised countries like US ,China,Japan etc are dumping potentially harmful...n....non biodegradable waste in India .

India is actually not but will be responsible for  this advancing pollution if this dumping process continues

  10. America but we are going to change

  11. I think most of the 3rd world countries would fit in this category, and, not one country specifically.

The 3rd world countries want to become like the western countries. To live the lifestyle that they see in Europe or North America.

  12. it is USA who always arguing against global warming in international forum not seeing how much she responsible for it.

  13. It is mostly India and other countries that are going through a big development boom right now.  They are going through their industrial revolution and whenever that happens, people don't pay any attention to the exhaust fumes their buildings are giving off because they are so focused on making money.  There is that and the huge population they have there with all the cars on the road.  Very few of the cars they have are new, too, so they have really bad pollution.
