The most underrated player in world rugby at the moment would be Butch James.  He's a destroyer on defense and has a good game head when it comes to offense.  Stirling Mortlock is definitely not underrated, since he's the best outside center in the world, just watch him dismantle my beloved all blacks :'(

The most overrated player would be Chabal.  He's all media hype because he's french and doesn't look like it at all.  He's a poor runner, a mediocre line-out jumper, and a is only so-so on defense
