  1. Johan Franzen

    Johan Hedberg

    Maxime Talbot

    Miroslav Satan

    RJ Umberger

    Dan Ellis

    Scottie Upshall

  2. All-time in addition to Ronnie Franchise .. where's the love for Teppo Numminen?

Among recently retired players : Eric Desjardins, Peter Bondra, Olaf Kolzig

Among current players (as there's talk Teppo's gonna retire) :

    Robert Lang

    Trevor Linden

    Cory Stillman

(I will think of others and update this, but they are the first to come to mind)

ok I have had a pop (Dr Pepper if it matters) and am now awake and would like to add these current players to the list:

    Jason Arnott

    Steve Begin

    Pierre-Marc Bouchard

    Francis Bouillon

    Rod Brind'Amour

    Andrew Brunette

    ILya Bryzgalov

    Michael Cammalleri

  6. Under Ratted??

    You must mean Underrated.

    Max Talbot

    Chris Kunitz

    Colby Armstrong

    Brandon Dubinsky

    Just to name a few...

  7. I am sorry but JOHAN FRANZEN is presently winning that by a bunch. So is Umberger and Upshall. The way you play in the playoffs define your career in my eyes.

  8. Peter Mueller

  9. idk how underrated he is but not a lot of people seem to know who Anze Kopitar is. then again geographically i live in the eastern conference. I mean he's a real young player and he seems to be leading the whole LAkings team! (which for the most part, sucks btw). Also Jason Pominville and Derek Roy of the buf sabres are both pointpergameplayers and you don't hear them getting mentioned a lot.

  10. According to Gonchar it's the whole Pittsburgh Penguins

    Most Underrated:

    Johan Franzen

    Anze Kopitar

    Brandon Dubinski

    Zach Parise

    The list goes on...

Gonchar- How is Letang underrated? He had 17 points in 63 games in the regular season, and a very inexperienced defender.  Also has 2 point in the playoffs.  Welcome to hockey outside of Pittsburgh.

Gonchar- It was nice to have such a mature convo with you.  Thanks.

Kate-  I understand he's a young defensman but also gets caught out of position ALOT, which is why I say he's not underrated.  Like you said he's still young and still learning but to call him underrated is a bit rational.

Defensive Wise I would say Erik Johnson, Jack Johnson, and Duncan Keith are what I would call underrated.  They all play a better defensive game, not caught out of position and have good eyes.  Not to mention have better numbers, also younger, or the around the same age as Letang.  Still not sold on Letang yet.  But then again this is your opinion, and who am I to tell you whos "underrated".

Hal Gill is a piece of pylon.

  11. I think it would have to be Joe Thorton from the San Jose Sharks. He is a very skilled hockey player but... nobody ever talks about him. I have never heard anybody talk about him.

  12. I'm sorry but I don't think Franzen is the most underrated, quite frankly he's getting a lot of recognition right now, as much as he should? I'm not gonna answer that but he definitely is getting recognition.

Now I know I'm a wings fan, so I may be biased, but honestly, I think Osgood should win this. He's 9-1 in this playoffs (winning his first nine games mind you), and when compared to Hasek's 2-2 playoff record, it looks really good. People are call him OVER-RATED, which I think is impossible considering he has gotten next to nothing when it comes to one of the best goalies this playoffs. He has the best G.A.A currently and got the best this past season, I think he has one of the best save percentage in the NHL, and is quite frankly dominating on Ice.

The thing is, is that he's really a great guy off ice from what I heard, this guy could easily be #1 in most other places, (and I think he should have here too), and could have easily gotten more money, but took the back-up spot and stayed loyal to Detroit (even when we kicked him out once). He always has quick crack and good jokes during interviews, he never complains, never asks for a raise, never pouts about not starting, seems to have a great personality from what I see.

Not only do people call him a decent goalie, I've heard people call him a BAD goalie, and says that if you put a stick leaning against the cross bar in net, it could do as well, I mean yeah Detroits defense is one of the best, but If anyone can do it.. why couldn't Hasek?

Now, I'm not saying he's a Brodeour or a Nabakov , but I would definitely put him in the top 5 goalies for this year (not ever).

Plus look at his stats, he's been consistent his whole career. I remember him being named "Mr. October" or something like that with his first season as an Islander and I was really pissed cause he did unbelievable well right when he left.

  13. There is a lot.. (off the top of my head)

    Mirslov Satan

    Maxime Talbot

    Ryan Malone

    Sergei Gonchar

    Ty Conklin

    Kristopher Letang

    Mark Streit

    Sergei & Andrei Kostitsyn

  14. Jordan Staal

    Maxime Talbot

    Marc-Andre Fleury

    Johan Franzen

    Ryan Malone

Mike Fisher when he is on fire (point wise) he's hard to knock off his, but when he goes into a slump, it takes him a while to get out of the slump.
