1) Because he's a good playerr and puts his heart into the game (and if youu boo him you're wrong because you loved him before - it's just because hargreaves has joined man utd now so you all love him so you gotta take it out on someone else)

2) he gets paid the most behind Beckham (personally i think beckham gets paid too much $400,000 a week wehn frank gets paid 150,000 quid a week, but if abramovich can afford it then give hm the moneyy)

I've read most of the answers and most people seem to agree it's Steven Gerrard. Some people seem to think its Rio but if you compare them you will see that Rio is a good defender but Gerrard seems to play all over the pitch and has scored some spectacular goals, when you think he is the perfect player he goes out there and seems to play even better. He leads by example.

| suppose it depends on the interpretation of the word, 'value'. If you mean the best at the moment then I suppose Gerrard must be there or there abouts.  However, for the future I think Bentley or Walcott (yes he will come good) have a greater value.

If you are on about how good they are, then I would say possibly James, Terry or Ferdinand.

If you are on about in price then I would possibly agree with you or possibly say Bentley or Jo Cole as these are slightly younger, are brillant wing players and can also score cracking goals as well as set them up.

I also think that it is a bit sad that defenders and goalkeepers aren't thought as the most valuable as in the season that has just passed, Derby didn't have much a defense and they went down with about 11 points!!  I have always said that a good defense is the foundation of a good team because you can't win matches if you conceed too many goals.
