  1. Bobby Skilton (the old South Melbourne) A brilliant player not always part of a good team like some of them I could mention.  A fair player, a tough player;  how he would be the one to burst out of the pack and win the ball for his team - a truly great rover of old.  Does anyone remember those 2 black eyes when he won his Third Brownlow???  He was not afraid of anything and strived so valiantly for the Swans and pity he was never part of a premiership team.

  2. Thats a tough one. To answer that I would have to have lived for around 100 years! I think those who deserved them most were probably before our time, but then again, the game is so much faster than it was back then.

Those that I can remember, well Hird and Vos were very deserving. They have proven that with numerous club best and fairests and premierships under their belts. Hird retired as club best and fairest for the season, you cant do much better than that. Buckley really deserved his when he finally got there. Robert Harvey has proven himself over his many years of football. I think that it was a shame that Chris Grant and Scott West missed out, one through suspension and the other just pipped by a cpl of votes.

One who I don't think was so deserving was Tony Libratore; I remember him as a dirty player and the same can be said for Greg Williams, while Scott Wynds Brownlow win just about signalled the end of his career!

Overall I would have to say that most winners were deserving of their Brownlow, and it IS based on one season so I guess I shouldn't hold it against anyone who didn't perform well in following seasons. Those who have two or three have definatly proven themselves throughout their career, but I didn't agree with Adam Goodes winning two - sorry Swans fans.

  3. Mark Riccuito.

A very worthy winner that was finally noticed for his talent.

An excellent player and a quiet achiever.

  4. Robert Harvey Great players just keep going. Thats from an eagles supporter .Enjoy the rest of the season

  5. Dinny Ryan from Fitzroy in 1936, he played in a star studded side with two other more famous medal winners, chicken smallhorn and Hayden bunton junior(3 medals), any player who could out poll these fella's obviously deserved to win his brownlow medal.

edit- a thumbs down for this answer, here we go again.

  6. John Platten, he was clearly the best player the year he won and was a fair and clean player, he was only little but played above his size.

  7. definatly not cousins. its very hard to choose they all do thats why they won exept for richuito

  8. Brad Hardie and Tony Libbertore, those two really deserved their medals, not.

  9. shane crawford because that year he played really well and hes a hawthorn player and this year its going to be sammy mitchell whose going to win it

  10. Jimmy Stynes ... to come from another nation ... across the other side of the world. .. and to play the game as he did, and as consistantly as he did ..... I couldn't go past him....

    YAY JIMMY!!

  11. James Hird

  12. Kevin Murray of Fitzroy.

He's streets ahead of the others.

  13. chirs judd.
