I have a bet going with my sister...I say it was Kathy Johnson at the 1984 games, that she was 24 at the time.

  1. No, it was Oksana Chusovitina who competed this year at 33.

She competed for Germany and won a sillver medal on the vault event finals.

Also in the 2004 Olympics Mohini Bahardwaj and Annia Hatch were 25 (they competed for the US).

  2. As a matter of interest:

The oldest non American Gymnastics Female Gold Medallist was

Agne Kelleti of Hungary, aged 35 years and 332 days when she won medals on floor, balance beam and uneven bars in 1956.

Edit: I did say "As a matter of interest" and specify that she was a "non-American" !!

  3. All these answers blow the theory that China cheated by allegedly having underage gymnasts.

  4. You are correct.
