  1. The longest  documented lifespan is that of Jeanne Calment of France (1875–1997), aged 122 years and 164 days.


  2. There's no hard evidence of any woman outliving Jeanne Calment, who made it to 122 and met Vincent van Gogh, who put himself out of his own misery in 1890.

    The oldest woman currently still breathing is Edna Parker in Indiana.  She turned 115 not long ago.
