Hey everyone

I'm going out of town for the next 10 or so days on business in Northern Arizona but I probably won't be back on again till about September or around when the hockey season starts. Have fun and good luck with these idiots who continue to post non-hockey questions in the hockey section.

Wayne Gretzky for me.

Speaking of meeting hockey players I met Doan, Mueller, and Olli at the Coyotes Open House last Saturday and got all 3 of them to sign my hockey puck. Doan and Mueller are very down to Earth but Olli #12 is very dull to say the least.

Oh and I had $30 worth of free food and drinks too. 4 hot dogs from Weinersnichal and 2 20oz Mountain Dew's at the arena. Soda good but hot dogs taste like c**p but what else would you expect from the place that is home to the Chill-Cheese Dog Diet?

Enjoy the rest of the summer and let the real games begin soon.

  1. Zach Parise

    Richard Zednik

    Alexander Ovechkin

    Sidney Crosby

  2. Martin St. Louis

  3. As much as I like hockey, I actually have no interest in meeting players. It's just not something that appeals to me.

One person that I would like to meet before I die (or more likely HE DIES) is Ozzy Osbourne.

  4. Pavel Bure

    My favorite player as kid

I'm sure he is abrasive and a stone wall but having a beer (or vodka) or two and talking a little hockey would be cool.

#2 Iggy, the guy is the definition of hockey

Shocks..... I would have to go with Pink Gilmore, seems like a proper english gent but prob doesn't mind getting a little tossed and raisin' a little h**l

  5. Claude Lemieux.  I'd flip him the bird.

  6. Mats Sundin's grandson. Since Mats doesn't have any children yet, It is going to be about 50-60 years before his grandson is in he NHL. By that time I will be 115 years old and then I might be ready to die.

  7. I have to agree with you... Gretzky! I mean which hockey fan wouldn't want to meet this man! He's brought a lot to hockey and he's contributed a lot to the sport. It would be a dream come true to meet him one day

    Have on your Business trip!

Hope to see you back soon!

  8. Nick Lidstrom. He is such a great defenseman and he has been my favorite player since I started watching hockey. I would kill to meet him.

That sounds awesome. I almost went to the Caps open house thing they had a couple weeks ago but they only were having Brooks Laich there. While I like the guy he isn't motivation enough for me to drive thought the DC area traffic to meet him.

  9. Considering i am a guitar player can i say Jeff Beck or David Gilmour instead?

that would please me more than Banging Brooke Burke....and my wife even lets me keep a poster of her in our bedroom

other than the two listed above there is nobody....... i'm not a s***k/Puckbunny type of guy

  10. Sidney Crosby

  11. Marc-Andre Fleury

  12. Steve Yzerman

    I would die happy

  13. Mines would have to be joe sackic best nhl player ever !

  14. Mike Modano - Greatest hockey player from the states.

    or

Peter Bondra - Long time Capital and in my opinion one of  the greatest hockey players the caps ever had.

I would also LOVE to meet Dale Hunter. That man was my HERO growing up.

    =]]

  15. probably Hasek...  already have met Brett Hull and THeo Fleury ; two of my other all time favs..

  16. definatley all of the players on the miracle team. (the USA olympic team from a while ago, they beat the CCC team when they were expected to do horrible.)

  17. I have three that I want to meet in person:

Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, and Mike Eurizone

  18. sergei fedorov

  19. Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Mike Modano, Marty Turco, Keith Tkachuk...

The only hockey player I've met is Bill Baker, from the 1980 USA Olympic hockey team.  He's an oral surgeon now, and he took out my wisdom teeth.

  20. I have one: Mario Lemieux. Yeah, it sounds passe to want to meet your childhood sports hero. However, it would be one heck of a story to tell the grandkids someday. I did have the pleasure of meeting Willie O'Ree in Colorado Springs (the home of Team USA's hockey training center) in 1998 for a NHL Diversity Task force get together. Needless to say, I was in awe of this pioneer. As much I have always wished I could have met Jackie Robinson, it was even cooler to meet hockey's equivalent. Not to mention, Mr. O'Ree is extremely humble and down to earth. An honor and pleasure to have shared a conversation with him.

  21. i dont like the islanders but i was supposed to meet mike bossy

but my friend knows this woman that lives 2 houses away from wayne gretzky

  22. I would like to meet Mario before i pass on

  23. Alexander Ovechkin

He seems real down to earth

  24. Ryan Malone would have to be that one person for me.

I had a plan that as soon as i was legal to be in bars, i would hunt Ryan down in the South Side (where the hockey players are usually found) during the weekend and meet him. But seeing as how he doesn't play for the Pens anymore, i can't do that :(

Max Talbot would be fun to meet, also.
