  8. St. George the Dragon Slayer is the most famous Patron Saint of England but there are at least two more

    First is Edmund the Martyr. Edmund was King of East Anglia who, according to the Christian story, was captured in by Viking raiders who wanted to take East Anglia for themselves. When Edmund refused to renounce his Christian faith his Viking captors tied him to a tree and had him shot with Arrows to kill him but he rose from death but a Viking cut off his head and his body died, but his soul flew to heavon.

    And the other is Edward the Confessor. He was made a Patron saint by Henry II in a political move to show his subjects that in him both Norman and English bloodlines had finally become one and both countries were but one Kingdom under him. He was replaced by St. George in 1348
