Even after Fedors big win over Tim Sylvia I still believe the #1 pound for pound fighter in the world is clear.

#1. Anderson Silva - Needs no reasoning

#2. Fedor Emelianenko - The Best Heavyweight. Only lost once because of a cut. Won past 9 with the record of 28-1. I dont put him at #1 because the lack of competition at the heavyweight division

#3. Urijah Faber - simply a beast underratted for fighting in the WEC. Won past 13 with the record of 20-1

#4. Georges St. Pierre - Destorys the competition. With only 2 loses. Which he turned around and beat the same guys. Record of 16-2

#5. B.J. Penn - After dropping to the Lightweight division. Penn could not be stopped

  1. Fedor is universially regarded as the best in and out of the sport.  Combined that with Silva's short reign compared to Fedor, you have to give the nod to Fedor over Silva.

  2. Rampage Jackson

    Chuck Liddel

    BJ Penn

    Georges St. Pierre

    Urijah Faber

  3. fedor, silva, gsp, lyoto machida

  4. fedor and silva

    fedor nnumber one<<<___________________

  5. 1. Fedor Emelianenko

    2. B.J. Penn

    3. Georges St. Pierre

    4. Anderson Silva

    5. Miguel Torres.

The reason my list differs so much from your's is probably our definition of p4p. My p4p definition is the ability to fight well. Now Anderson Silva is a great fighter, and an exciting fighter, but hes only defended his belt 5 times. Frankly, I think if Martin Kaampman  ever gets a shot at the title, h**l have silva choked out in under 3 rounds.  Fedor has been a beast for a long time, he absolutely MOLESTED Tim Sylvia, which is why I put him ahead ahead of BJ. BJ's technique is legendary, and I think he could dominate any weight class he chose now that hes in shape.

  6. Wow, asking this question is always tough. You're gonna get answers all over the map. Lets try to keep it logical. This list, other than Fedor, is in no particular order.

Fedor: 28-0-0 (1NC). They give him a loss but its because it was in a tournament. It was a unintentional cut over the eye and he could not continue. No real loss there. So undefeated and he's beaten a prime Crocop, Nogueira (twice), Sylvia in :36 seconds, primed Herring, primed Hunt, primed Schilt (now the #1 Kickboxer in the world). An obvious #1

Uriah or Kid: These two need to fight to settle this. Uriah has no real compeition in America other than Pulver whom he just bested. Kid has taken out some top-level Japanese fighters so I give him the edge, but until they meet, it cant be conclusive.

Anderson Silva: I have a bone to pick that he's considered #1 by so many. UFC has given him easy beats considering his style. He's suseptible to aggressive submission fighters, Catch Wrestling, Japanese wrestlers, Ricardo Arona or Paulo Filho types. In the UFC they have avoided giving him such a fight. No doubt this guy is a top-notch fighter, but you should have to defeat your deamons to be #1 P4P

Dan Henderson: Id say he's fallen off the P4P wagon recently but if we are talking all-time P4P this guy has claimed more gold than anyone and has had success at every weight class. A little too inconsistant for my taste, but he's top-notch.

Josh Barnett: I personally like Barnett so much its hard to be unbias here, but I'll try my best. His only losses are from Crocop, Nogueira and a prime Rizzo seven years ago. He's beaten everybody else. He's MMA's best kept secret.

BJ Penn: I think everyone knows the BJ Penn story. Id say he's on the bubble if not in the top 5.

Takanori Gomi: If Gomi didnt suffer from bouts of depression I believe he'd be the #1 P4P fighter. Unfortunately he does and so he's not. When he is fired up and on his game he is unstoppable. Hopefully he'll be back on top soon.

Shogun Rua: I couldnt tell you what happened with the Forrest fight but the Shogun I have watched for the last five years was not that man. Shogun possess the tools and talent if he can find that focus, to be the #2-3 P4P. He rolled through the Pride MW Tourney and he's kicked the c**p outta anyone else he's faced.

  7. In order to be in the top 5 pound for pound, I think you need to have a good record against other top ranked fighters in your division and be extremely well rounded.

    My list.

    1 Fedor Emelianenko

    2 Anderson Silva

    3 GSP

    4 BJ Penn

    5 Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira

My number 5 is open for debate, the other 4 are not, even if you disagree with my order, if my top 4 fighters are not in your top 5 at all then you dont know what you talking about.
