  1. THAT SHOULD BE MANFRED VON RICHTOFEN THE RED BARON

BUT I LIKE DUKE CUNNINGHAM BETTER HES AWESOME

  2. Tom Cruise :)

  3. I don't really like to look at it this way because it disfavors many pilots excellent pilots who have not been in combat but

ace = five confirmed kills or more

TOP SCORING JET ACE OF ALL TIME

(Ret.) Giora Epstein from Israel in the Israeli Air Force 17 kills

Heinz Bar,Franz Schall, and Rudolf Rademacher all had 16 Me262 jet victories.

Joseph M McConnell is our leading Jet ace with 16 jet victories. He had 15. McConnell flew with the 39th FIS 51st FIW. (F-86 Sabre)on Aug. 25, 1954, while testing an F-86H at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., Capt. McConnell crashed to his death.

The Russian aces claims in korea has 2 pilots higher than both German and US. Sutiagin and Pepelyaev with 21 and 20 jet victories respectively. (flying MiG15)

As you progress, past the korea war, there are hardly any aces. There was only 2 aces, Randall Cunningham and Steve Ritchie in Vietnam, and none since then. Only the Israeli Air Force, flying F-15s have aces in the present day.

  4. Actually the top scoring fighter guy for the USAF in Vietnam-and still holds the high score is Chuck Bellevue an F4 WSO with 6 confirmed kills.

Ritchie gets all the hoopla because he was pilot.

  5. The then Squadron Leader M. M. Alam of the Pakistan Air Force claimed nine confirmed kills and two damages (all Hawker Hunters) while flying  F-86s during 1965.

During one mission, flying an F-86, he has shot down 5 Hunters in less than a minute. This record stands even today.

  6. Most often cited is Giora Epstein Even with 17 confirmed jet kills.  Israeli.  Flew Mirage III and Nesher.  Ended career in F-16s.

But here is an interesting pilot list found elsewhere on the net specifying POST KOREA aces (back seaters are not shown).  Source is item 1 below.  Sources 2, 3 and 4 below are for Giora.
