Michael Waltrip? Robbie Gordon? When you try to think of a driver who just can't seem to catch a break, who comes to mind?

  1. Here lately its Tony Stewart.  Every time he's winning a race, bad things seem to happen to him.  Flat tires, wrecks.  This guy can't catch a break.

  2. This year it is Tony. But if you think back over the years I think one of the unluckiest has to be Mark Martin. Man can this guy get a break and get himself a championship so he can retire?

  3. Elliott Sadler, Robbie Gordon, Dario Franchitti and Casey Mears.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  4. Bifflel comes to my mind, seems like he's come so close to winning, then somehow, something happens...

Poor guy, I just feel sorry for him, and I ain't a fan of his.

  5. Dario Franchitti. He just lost his cup ride. I feel kinda bad for the guy.

  6. Elliott Sadler, like they say if he didnt have bad luck he'd have no luck at all.

  7. waltrip something always seem to happen to that poor guy

  8. J.J. Yeley, A.J. Allmendinger, Greg Biffle and Casey Mears can't seem to catch a break so far this season.

  9. Elliott Sadler can't buy a break this year!!! I really hope the bad joo-joo goes away for him, I like the guy!

  10. Johnny Sauter.

  11. Elliott Sadler, Kurt Busch & Tony Stewart all come to my mind especially Kurt.

  12. lately it has been tony stewart. but all in all it's gotta be casey mears. look at all the bad luck he's had - Daytona, California, Richmond...he's a good guy but he needs some better luck. Other unlucky driver - Sam Hornish.

  13. Elliot Sadler and Robby Gordon.    But Elliot probably more so because he usually gets to taste the front of the pack before getting a flat.

  14. Elliott Sadler.....poor guy couldn't catch a break if he ran right into it. Seems like he's always in the wrong place at the right time. Then add Kurt Bush and Smoke. Sure would like to see them break the jinks.   =o`)

  15. Jamie McMurray, Casey Mears, Elliott Sadler, Boris Said all come to mind.

  16. Kenseth, been a helluva season so far

  17. unlucky and untalented seem to be intertwined in a lot of answers here...

    ;-)

i'd have to say dario franchitti. he wins the indy 500 and the irl championship last year, then trusts that ganassi won't s***w him so he comes to nascar, and starts doing decently. then he gets hit as hard as anyone i've seen in a long time in a nationwide race and ends up with a broken ankle and has to sit out and watch his #40 cup team sink in the rankings.

when his ankle finally heals, ganassi shuts his team down. now it sounds like he's got nowhere to go - yeah, he can run the nationwide #40, but they've got bryan clausen - a younger developmental driver - who needs seat time as well. i wouldn't be surprised to see penske offer him a ride in the #12.

bottom line, though, he's still got ashley judd to go home to, so i won't be losing any sleep over his bad luck in nascar...

  18. This year it has absolutely been Matt Kenseth.  Its gotten better but, Wow, he could not catch a break during the first dozen or so races.

  19. tony stewart, michael and robby, all of hendricks especially lately they get great cars then it goes a way or someone runs into the back them (junior got ran into the back twice on his way to wins charlotte where he brushed the wall after a tire went down and loudon where he went to pit and jamie mcmurray hit him), and i think that jeremy mayfield too no one wants him anymore yet he is a good driver

  20. Elliott Sadler

  21. Tony Stewart this season.  Robbie Gordon, usually.

  22. This year it seems to be a toss up between Elliott Sadler and Kurt Busch.

  23. Poor Kurt must have broken like 50 mirrors, ran over 10 black cats, walked under 20 ladders, and knocked over a dozen salt shakers with the luck he had this year, that is up until New Hampshire. I think he got his revenge in that race. If that wasn't luck he had there I don't know what is. Of course judging by Saturdays race it seems his usual luck has caught back up to him.

Tony Stewart has also had some pretty crappy luck this season too. Although most of his hasn't been as devastating and he has been able to recover occasionally to get decent finishes and keep himself in the top 12 in pts.

  24. Elliott Sadler hands down. Unluckiest driver ever in the sport since his rookie year.

Edit: Some made the remark of Mark Martin and I have to agree with that. Both drivers have very similar driving styles so I guess nice guys finish last...

  25. #18 Kyle Busch if he keeps on tauting Jr nation by wipen the fake tears away some one some were is going to get on the track an hit kyle or throw something at his car an make him wreck

  26. Anybody thats not at JGR and Jeff Gordon. He doesn't have a women.

  27. Elliott Sadler - he can be running good right at the end of a race and he blows a tire - example Sonoma.

  28. maby not the unluckiest but still prety unlucky

mark martin the daytona thing in 07 of course this year at phonix when he ran out of gas this year at new hamshire when he ran out of gas there was a race like 3 weeks ago where it was jeff some dude and him and i think he got caught in the acordian effect and pushed out of line and ended up like 12th or something maby not the unluckiest but still prety unlucky

  29. tony stewart (lately!)

  30. My vote is for 2 drivers. Carl Edwards doesnt seem to be able to catch a break. Twice this year alone, he has appeared to have the car to beat. He blew the engine in Atlanta when he was running  away with it, then last week with the splitter issue. This doesnt even count the oil tank lid fiasco or the Daytona finish where he lost by a foot due to a caution. Amazing how all 3 of these losses turned into Kyle Busch wins. Also, Denny Hamlin has seemed to have had more than his fair share of bad luck the past 2 years. Between dominating at Richmond only to cut a tire with 20 to go, and the 2 near certain wins has lost because of that fuel pickup problem Gibbs cars have had the past couple years, thats 3 wins he should have had the past 2 years.
