Joe Calzaghe, hes been a champ longer, and made more defences than pacqiuao.

Kelly Pavlik has only made ONE title defence, and that was against a clubfighter, so to suggest him is ridiculous.

De La Hoya fights rarely these days, so i wouldnt count him.

David Haye has yet to prove himself at Heavyweight, i hope he does though!

Cotto is unbeaten, but hes yet to have that BIG fight.

In my personal opinion, I would have to be inclined to say Roy Jones Jr Or Joe Calzaghe... Out of the two I would say Calzaghe edges it, He is the more youthfull, but overallhe edges Jones in every attribute (Y) =] X

In my eyes, as well as Ring Magazine's, Manny Pacquiao has ascended to the number one spot.  Manny was number 2 for the longest time, and he deserves to be number 1 now.  Plus, if you look at the rankings below, none of the other fighters qualify- Joe Calzaghe was number 3, but he doesn't deserve it over Pacquiao because he has faced stiffs for the majority of his career and only recently has he faced top competition, and guys like Kelly Pavlik and Miguel Cotto were much lower on the list.  Pacquiao has beaten MANY quality opponents over the past few years, such as Marco Antonio Barrera (twice), Erik Morales (twice), and Juan Manuel Marquez.  That list of fighters tops any other fighter's opponents in the top 10, and in my eyes, Pacquiao is rightfully the new pound for pound best.
