Who is the/your most popular/favorite NASCAR driver?

The most popular is probably Dale Sr. or the King Richard Petty.

My most favorite NASCAR driver is Jimmie Johnson.

Current, I love that 99 car. I loved Mark Martin, then he said he was going to retire, so I changed to Carl. Then he didn't' retire. Then before that was Rusty Wallace, who did retire.

The King is a living legend, not much to say about that. And the Intimidator would have broken Petty's records had he lived- dirty driver that he was (and I love him).

I like most of the Rousch/Fenway crowd, honest, down-home dirt track boys. I was (unhappy) Tony won Eldora.

The only driver I can honestly say I have no use for is JPM. He's like a burr under your skin.

I know that Bill Elliott was named Favorite Driver for at least 14 years... Darrell Waltrip was a couple... but then the reign was handed over to Dale JR!

I still think Carl is great!

My favorite is Jeff Gordon. He is pretty popular. My guess at most popular active driver would be Jr. As for historic, It would be hard to pick between Sr. and The King.
