He has to be somebody to become the GM of Raw - but I've never heard of him.

Mike Adamle was once a running back at Northwestern.  In fact, Howard Cosell once said of him, "Look at that little monkey run" years before he said the same thing about Joe Morris and got into trouble for making a supposedly racist comment.  But I digress.  Adamle was a sports anchor in Chicago for ABC for a long time before getting some gigs on syndicated sports shows, including the original American Gladiators

He began as a backstage announcer for RAW, before spontaneously replacing Joey Styles on the ECW brand.

He remained on ECW for several months, before WWE pulled this little swerve out.

During his tenure on the ECW brand, he was the subject of much scrutiny and jaunting from the IWC, due to his extremely poor announcing skills and lack of understanding of the business.
