  1. 1. Imran Khan: the way he led the team in 1992 WC was best no one could have done it and he is one of the Best any ways.

    2. MS Dhoni: he is Very Young really good captain and reliable player as well been to many team rescues. and  under his captaincy Indian Cricket team can go all the way up to #1

    3. R. Ponting: well he is one of the Best as a Captain and as a Player no doubt.

    4. Arjuna Rana...he was the Best in 1996 WC and proved him self that he deserved that Win.

  2. m s dhoni

  3. m.s.dhoni

  4. Dear Brother Manu,

My all time favourite will always be the Niazi from Pakistan : Imran Khan. This is because he was an all-rounder good in bowling and batting and so he always lead by example. He was also a highly inspirational leader. He inspired the Pak team to win the world cup. Even now he is a just person in politics having praised Indian democracy on several occasions.

Kapil Dev of India was good too, because he could lead India to world cup. At that time it was unthinkable because Indian team was not that powerful. It lacked big names except Gavaskar.

Arjuna Ranatunga of Sri Lanka, he was calm and composed during stressful times and could make good judgment to lead his side to victory. 4 yrs back no one could think SL could ever do it.

Douglas Jardine, of England who invented bodyline, within the framework of the existing rules to  defeat Australia in the Ashes long time ago.He was the creator of intimidatory fast bowling.

Hansje Cronje of South Africa. He transformed the new SA side into world beaters.

Mahender Singh Dhoni, Mr Cool, he knows how to stay calm, think under pressure and take well-judged risks.

I really cannot choose any West Indies or Australian for the simple reason, that they have always had very powerful bowling and batting side.

EDIT: I think I would like Shane Warne of Jaipur IPL, if he continues this way.

    Your Rehman bhai

  5. Saurav Ganguly all dd''' wayyy.....

  6. Jayawardene, Ponting, M.S Dhoni

All these men lead ther team well, through the good and the bad and get to victory or close eneough.

They are well respected captains and lead ther team well.

  7. fleming

  8. Stephen Fleming the best captain but not a good enough batsmen to be a great player. Also had a c**p team to captain.

  9. wow what a question. I could name 10 or more that i thought were great captains. I always thought Ian Chapell, Alan border, Mark Taylor, were prety tough. I also like Rantunga from sri lanka, he didn`t take a backward step from any body.

But for me Douglas Jardine, must have been the best, up against a great Australian side, with the brillance of Bradman, he had to balls to do something out of the box, to win at all costs. He must have been quite a guy. When no one gave his team a hope in h**l, he kicked ***.

  10. John Smith.

  11. arajuna ranathunga

  12. In India  Kapil Dev is my alltime best captain in cricket.

  13. Steve Waugh is the all time best Captain in cricket followed by Ricky Ponting.

  14. DANIEL VET TORI AND JAYAWARDENE

  15. I ALSO PREFER SOURAV GANGULY ALONG WITH RICKY PONTING AS ALLTIME BEST CAPTAIN IN THE WORLD OF CRICKET.

  16. Steve Waugh, Clive Lloyd, Hadlee.

  17. Mark Taylor was i think all rounder, not in the classical mould though. As a 1st slipper he was brilliant (an area where Aust. struggles now since Warne retired), as opening bat quite brilliant and as captain a superb tactician, leader of men and statesman of the game. Some wolud say he inherited a great team of champions from border, that is true, but he turned them into members of a champion team. His ability to delegate and manage was wonderful and he was one of the first real media savvy captains, his personality, wisdom, humility and approach to the game and life set him aside, thus when he retired (at only 34), he assumed a statesman like aura. Other captains i greatly admired were Richie Benaud, Frank Worrell and Bob Simpson, who at 41 led an Australian team rocked and split by the WSC.

  18. From A-Z of all cricket nations. My favorite captain will have to be Arjuna aka" Captain Cool" Ranatunga of Sri Lanka.

At age 8, in the year of 1996. I will never forget how he led Sri Lanka all the way to Lahore, Pakistan for the 96 Wills Cup trophy. I will always admire Captain Cool for his captincy duties, over his cricket years for Sri Lanka. Captain Cool is also my favorite captain bc, i like how he use to hold up the middle order for many runs VS the oppostion bowlers & his cricket skills for an ICC World Cup trophy. He also led SL for victory for ODIs & test matches with his consistent knowledge of basic attacking & defensive strategies.
