Contemporary cricketer I choose the incomparable Sachin Tendulkar. I saw him bat on a treacherous Perth trampoline of a pitch in the '91/'92 season and it was a remarkable innings...he had so much time...where others the ball was past them before they knew it.  He is an ornament of the game and a superb role model. A wonderful man. Of yesteryear I have to select Gary Sobers.

sachin tendulkar.Because after 14 years of his excellent batting performance,now also the famous bowlers and young dangerous bowlers also fail to identify the weakness of sachin.Because sachin Tendulkar identifies his weaknesses and remove his weaknesses with lot of technique.Now,in the ipl also sachin attracts all the audience and all the cricketers with his captaincy skills..that is the indian cricket lord...SACHIN TENDULKAR.

My favourite crickter is RAHUL DRAVID because he plays when India is in difficult condition. He play for team not for personal record.He is best Batsman, No. one techinique player. He can play in all pitch. He can play in all postion where team nedds. He can play well in Indian pitch & in other country pitch also. He also encourage & motivate young guys to play. Shahid Afridi!! Boom boom... 'nuff said?!

No, I like Afridi because of his spontaneous cricket.  Sometimes he'll get out after one sixer but if he sticks he's amazing.  And when no one is able to get any wickets, he bowls an over and knocks over two wickets!  I love it.  

Afridi is a real entertainer!

He is so awesome............................just look at the shots that he play---------- spectacular cover drives, awesome pull shots, delicate cut shots...................................... and look at the way he adjusts himself to the different formats of the game........................Too good to be true..... Every thing he does is so perfect..,,,,,,, he is a champion. and a gr888 one at that... His game is so awesome...........

and what a gr888 team man yaar------ always thinking abt the good will of his team......... look at his Aus tour of 2002-03........,after he played such an awesome game in the Adelaide , he remained so humble and when he was asked a question abt India's dismal showings as a visitor - tears rolled down his cheeks....... he opened the innings for India Vs Australia and that invited a lot of critisism.....

he remains so humble even after all that he has achieved...... thats what makes him so special..........

he practised..harder and harder..........and harder...... and got a call to the One day side and he hasn't looked back since........  he could have easily given up hope saying that the world is against him or something like that or he could continue on.. and thank fully he took the second path.............

and even now.

IPL T20 - no cricket expert gave him a chance - but his fans like me and trillions , quadrillions of others believed in him......

and his team didn't do too well............. he came of with flying colors......371 - 35 boundries 11 sixes......

and no you look at him - 10000 formats in both formats of the game............................ majestic..

fairplay------ true sportsman who very unlike me gives credit to the opposition.........after India's WC 2007.Vs Bangladesh...

if it was me I would have been so mad with Tamim .but what does he do--- congratulate him and give him a beautiful bat........( I wish it was me) and during the T20  season - he took the word of Harbhajan...................
