Base on my observations of team USA during the pre-olympic games I think the starting 5 should be:

PG-Kobe Bryant-Kobe's primary goal will be to try and slow down the other team's perimeter guy.

SG-Dwayne Wade-Wade will be relied upon to score.

SF-Carmelo Anthony-Anthony will be relied to score and grab some boards.

PF-LeBron James-He will be needed to do a little of everything.

C-Dwight Howard-Howard needs to attack the glass and get offensive boards and he'll also need to be a defensive presence. He needs to hit freethrows also.

Wade seems as if he is more comfortable playing off the bench, in the starting lineup, he'll have to share time/ball with lebron, carmelo, and kobe.  For that reason, I would bring him off the bench.  CP3 would also come off the bench, as he is more offensive minded and set offense based..

Kidd is the starter because he is a glue guy and allows Melo, Bron and Kobe get their shots.
