  4. The oldest and best known example for pride that leads to a rulers downfall can be found in the bible. Pharao didn't let the Jews go, which caused the seven plagues and finally his pride forced him to charge into the red sea.

  5. Most recent example is Eliot Spitzer.  

  6. Hitler,  he thought he knew better than his general how to run a war.  So he didn't take their advise and lost the war.
