Well with only 4 networks covering it the McCain acceptance speech had more viewers than Obama's.  Orielly's poll showed 91% of respondents said McCain made the right choice.  Just 9% said he made the wrong choice.

In the popular vote, as close as can be checked by polls, they are more or less tied.  Obama MAY be ahead, but barely so if he is.

But in the electoral college, its not even close.  Obama is way ahead in the electoral college.  He's winning the majority of the states, the majority of the larger states with more delegates, and is close or tied with McCain in most swing states and even some normally surefire Republican states.

If the election were held today, it would go to Obama.

But we still have two months, and McCain is a fighter.  And now it would appear his VP choice is one as well.  I wouldn't quite bet the farm on Obama winning quite yet.

But the odds are with him.

Obama! McCain is continuing to sabotage his own campaign, first by choosing Sarah Palin as a VP, which undermines his entire "Obama has no experience" platform, and then by the negative campaigning displayed throughout the entire RNC... Since by contrast the Democratic campaign has been quite courteous, many people are turned off by the smear campaign over at the GOP.
