Don't know about the worse player but I can tell you the worst team in the history of cricket (in the modern era). This is including all forms of the game and all different levels of ability (and as you didn't specify if you meant only international cricket I thought I would include it).

That dubious honour goes to Goldsborough 2nds who play in a Yorkshire amateur village cricket league. They managed 10 ducks in their innings (the last batsman being stranded on 0) against Dishforth in a 2006 game. One of Dishforth's bowlers ended up with figures of 7/0 lol. They did manage to get 5 extras though so didn't finish without a score!

A few years before that in 1931 a Midlands team - Shepstone -  were all out for four extras.

i dont think any players are the worst simply because if they were bad at cricket they wouldnt get chosen to represent their team , all players are pretty good in their own right but thats just my opinion

GURU JPeeling said rite. but ive different Idea. the worst player the cricket ever produce is Shahid Afridi. 261+ matches, 12 years xperience of international cricket., but what he acheived or give to his nation 23 batting average and 34 bowling average.. even i played cricket half of afridi. i would have better averages.. afridi gives Zero to p**i nation..... Zero perception about his game. no one can say that im depend on him . he will make things done. Even Ross taylor(new boy) or vettori(bowler who can bat) makes even bettter image or perception in mind. Lots of other players who are junior to afridi but they have some image and repo in people minds. people says that he makes things done from bowling. yar if Shoaib malik or younis or sarwan takes wicket when they bowled in ODI so what afridi acheive different. he always perform against minor teams. look his bowling averages against good cricket playing nations.
