  1. AL Josh Hamilton or Darnad Spann

    NL Ryan Ludwick

  2. AL has to be Milton Bradley

NL   Ludwick is a good choice

  3. Josh Hamilton. Drug addict to easily one of the best players in MLB.

  4. AL:

    ERVIN SANTANNA

    NL:

I DONT PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO NL

  5. NL - cant disagree with ryan ludwick, he broke out like crazy this year.  Leading the majors in slugging is huge for such a young player.

AL - Josh Hamilton or Ian Kinsler

  6. No questions asked.  Josh Hamilton deserves both the NL and AL Comeback Player of the Year awards...that obviously won't happen and I think it'll be a toss up for the NL, but I'll go with Ludwick.  What Hamilton has been able to do is an absolutely amazing story!

Edit:  Does anybody that has answered this question realize what Josh Hamilton has done this year??  I mean, come one...108 RBI's as of now after what he's been through in the last couple of years!!  That's a comeback player right there!

  7. Well, I'm gonna go with a different answer.

Joe Crede, even though he's injured (I think).

  8. al hamalton

    nk chan ho park

  9. Josh Hamilton it is such a good story

  10. AL: Josh Hamilton

    NL: Lastings Milledge

Josh Hamilton because he was on fire in the Derby and he has a outstanding season :)

Lastings Milledge because he leads the Nationals in stolen bases and he is starting to become a RBI or Home run hitter.

  11. The criteria for Comeback Player of the Year is somebody who was good, had an off year (or years) due to injuries or just plain sucking, and then "coming back" and having another good year.  Let's not confuse "come back" with "break out".  Guys like Hamilton and Lucwick started showing signs of greatness last year.  This year is their "break out" year.

The A.L. has a few good candidates.

    AL Candidates:

    Carlos Quentin (2007: 5, 31, .214 to 2008: 30, 87, .287)

    Ervin Santana (2007: 7-14, 5.76 to 2008: 13-5, 3.45)

    Mike Mussina (2007: 11-10, 5.15 to 2008: 15-7, 3.27)

But I think the winner by a nose over Quentin is...

    Cliff Lee (2007: 5-8, 6.29 to 2008: 15-2, 2.58)

    NL Candidates:

But I'm going to go with....

    Ryan Dempster (2007: 2-7, 4.73 to 2008: 12-5, 2.93)

  12. Al: Ervin

Nl: Ehh Chan Ho Park? that fool got rocked last year and this year he's doing a lot better.

  13. AL: Josh Hamilton

    NL: Not sure.

  14. AL Josh Hamilton

    NL Jorge Cantu

  15. AL : Josh Hamilton

    NL : Edison Volquez

  16. Brandon Inge, for coming off the DL for an injury he got while moving a pillow:

  17. AL: Would have been Manny, but now he is in the NL, so I will have to go with Joe Mauer

NL: Edison Volquez, before this year, he wasn't too good.

    edit:wow forgot about hamilton haha

imagine that, hamilton and volquez win the awards, and they were traded for each other

  18. AL Cliff Lee: he was sent to the minors last year, this year he is 15 and 2

with a 2.58 era could have 20 wins if he would have a better team.

NL Aaron Cook pitcher for the rockies 8 and 7 last year this year 14 and 7 with an 3.68 era

  19. NL Ryan Ludwick..

Al- Mike Mussina- People thought he would barely get 10 wins.. now he is going to probably win 20

  20. NL: Ryan Ludwick

    AL: Josh Hamilton

  21. Carlos Delgado (Mets)

  22. LUDWICK all the way

  23. mmmm i have a feeling a lot of people said josh hamilton

but comeback player is usually reserved for veterans. The two I pick may not win, but are definitely in the running

NL: Kyle Lohse of the Cardinals. Outstanding year for him after several years of disappointments.

AL: Aubrey Huff of the Orioles. You may have never heard this name before. Sounds like a total comeback player of the year. The former Ray, was once only a Rays killer. He could not do any harm to any other team. This year, he is batting above .300 and I think ranks in the top 5 in the AL for RBI's and doubles. You haven't heard of him because he's an Oriole. Only a couple people know he even exists:P

Josh Hamilton isn't my AL CPOTY because he hasn't played that many seasons yet

  24. cliff lee, he was in the minors last year, cy young this year

  25. IN THE AL U CANT DISAGGREE WITH JOSH HAMILTON HIS STORY IS AWESOME

FOR THE NL I WOULD GO WITH LUDWICK AND CANTU BUT EVERY BODY IS FORGETTING BOUT FERNANDO TATIS IF HE KEEPS PLAYIN LIKE THIS HE COULD BE THE UPSET

  26. Come on guys, it has to be Cliff Lee.

  27. AL: HAmilton

    NL: Quentin
