Who is your family after you get married?

my husband says his parents are still his family in the same level as i am with him. i don't agree, my family(my husband, and me) should have own family, and they are diffrent family

You and your husband are at the top of your new family pyramid. The two spaces beneath are for your immediate family, and for his immediate family. That's how it works.

I t takes the two of you to be one family and any children that you have are part of that family,  Your ** extended** family includes,  the parents, and sibblings,  

To say the wife / husband must always be first is not corect, there will be times that the other family  members may have to be put before the spouse /  partner.   The spouse / partner,  should realize that they can not always be the center of the persons world,  there are times during sickness, etc that the other family members needs can and will superseed yours,  

To think that you will always be first no matter what, is to ignore the history that your partner / spouse has with their original family unit,   are you wanting the partner,/ spouse to totally forsake them on all occasions for you?  '\

These are not things that should be deiscussed after YOur married, how did you not talk about this before getting married,   These are things that should have been negotiated before hand,  

I have two grown children, and i know that there are times that i could call on them, and no matter what their Partners said,.t hey wold be there for me   if i truly needed them, and if their partners were so selfish to not understand this, then that is their problems,  because i am their parent.  

that is a bond that you dont want to break,  not really..

Definitively, you and your husband are now one family, his immediate family and yours are now two separate families. You can get support from them but decisions are made now exclusively from both of you.
