I know everyone gets sick of "Who's your favorite player?" questions...but I've never seen one about Minor League players. Who's your favorite?

It can be a player from a AAA, AA or A team...any Minor League team out there.

  1. I don't have a favorite, but I have been hearing about Preston Mattingly. So I am interested in seeing him, but his still in Class A

  2. He was in the Majors for w hile Brett Gardner something about him his speed the fact he is  a good eye he can take pitches , he will be in the Major Leagues soon

  3. Hmm, that's tough. I'm really intrigued by Greg Halman (SEA system) because he has such raw power and speed...and gets Bo Jackson comparisons. (He's got 26 HR and 29 SB in two MiLB levels this year)

Also, Wilmer Flores (NYM) just turned 17 last week and is hitting .325 (so most of that was as a 16). Far to early to see what he'll be, but it's pretty impressive.

I'm also rooting bigtime for Eric Young Jr....his SB numbers are sick the passed few years!

I'm a Reds fan, so I really liked Bruce, but he can't really count anymore...It'd be hard to pick a favorite,,but EYJ,  Halman and Flores are guys I'll follow.

  4. Aaron Poreda

  5. devern hansack from the AAA team of the red sox. i went to a paw sox game and he was throwing great, i see a lot of potential from him

  6. Colby Rasmus

  7. Rick Porcello. I met him in January at Tiger Fest, I got his autograph twice. Just a great pitcher, and a great person. He is either in A, AA, or AAA, because he will be in the Tigers bullpen in September.

  8. Charlie Haeger knuckleball pitcher for the Charlotte Knights

  9. Jerry Owens....

I liked him when he was in the majors with the White Sox and even though he struggled a little bit early in the minors I still think he should be in the majors.

  10. Quentin Mcracken

  11. Michael Hollimon. <3

  12. michael hollimon from the toledo mud hens--the AAA affiliate of the tigers

  13. Brett Myers since he goes back and forth from minors to majors to minors to...you get the picture....plus he has the best quote ever:

    "BOOM.....OUTTA HERE."

  14. Mitch Dening - Lowell Spinners (Single-A Red Sox Affiliate)

He has the potential to be a big star in the MLB.

He is in the top 20 in Average (9th with a .314 BA), Slugging%, OBP, and OPS in the New York Penn League.

  15. John Mayberry Jr., Elvis Andrus, & Joaquin Arias

  19. Matt LaPorta! Can't wait to see what this kid can do for the Indians.

  20. I like Chris Getz, even though he's in the majors right now (hasn't played a game yet). Aaron Poreda's a close second.

  21. Matt LaPorta.  He was the main player the Indians got for CC Sabathia.  I'm looking forward to when he gets called up to see if the trade was worth it or not.

  22. I Would Have To Say David Murphy

  23. David Murphy isn't a minor leaguer. He plays for Texas. He's just been on the disabled list. Hmm..I don't really have a favorite. I don't follow the Minors but I really like Frisco. I saw one of their pitchers and he was fabulous.

  24. taylor teagarden

  25. Rick Porcello, Michael Holliman and Clete Thomas

  26. Juan Miranda is having a great year in AAA but also Cody Ransom i like....he would be a helpful utility hitter as he has 22 home runs and 70 rbi's in AAA right now! Plus he is a veteran from the MLB.

  27. Rick Porcello and Eric Duncan because i went to high school with them both

  28. Mike Moustakas

  29. My favorite minor league baseball player is someone who's name I like to keep quiet, particularly on a public site.

I sent him a letter, asking him to sign my baseball card. 7 days later, my sister gets the mail, and asks me what I ordered. I didn't recall anything, and then she said it was from _________. I just screamed and said he was a baseball player! I opened the package, and inside was a note, and a pair of batting gloves that he gave me. I was so happy. And the next day, I got my card back signed. I thought it was really nice of him to go above and beyond for me.

That's why he is my favorite MiLB player.

Although, there are some more that I have met in person that I like.

    Danny Duffy

    Adam Klein

    Chris Dennis

    Mario Mercedes

  30. Colby Rasmus --------AAA Memphis redbrids.
