Tom Hanks. He is so versatile...he can put on so many different pairs of shoes and convince you that he IS the person who owns whichever one he is wearing. I mean think of all the different characters....Saving Private Ryan, Forest Gump, Terminal, Philadelphia...

There are so many generic actors out there that play the same basic kind of role over and over again.
