My favourite botanist is my 8th grade science teacher because he's a science educator, very smart, very cool, and I just like him.

Baron Ferdinand Von Mueller, he set up the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne and contributed a large amount of plants to the herbarium there, he described many new species of plants that he discovered in Australia.

Well, I live close to his test farm so I grew up hearing about our local hero. He developed so many plants and vegetables and was a true pioneer. :)

also gregor medel since he's the father of genetics plus he's a clergymen

Favorite Historic Botanist:

Sir Joseph Banks.  One of the founders of Kew Gardens & went to great lengths to grow breadfruit trees.

Gregor Mendel was a pretty crazy botanist =]

his work with the peas was amazing and was a huge breakthrough for the whole world!

Alexander von Humboldt.  His writings in 1800 tell us a lot about the Americas, as he traveled everywhere in this hemisphere--a great man indeed.
