Who is your least favorite fairy tale character?

I hate the king from the story 'Rumpelstiltskin' most. A miller boasted his daughter could spin straw into gold. The greedy king imprisoned the poor girl in a dungeon containing straw & threatened her with a grisly death if it wasn't spun into gold by morning. Of course, the task was impossible.

Rumpelstiltskin appeared to the weeping girl & completed the task for her in exchange for her necklace.

Rather than being satisfied, the king locked the girl in the dungeon twice more, each time with vastly more straw to spin than the night before & under threat of death if she failed in her task.

The second night she traded her ring to the wicked goblin but the third night she had nothing left to trade. She had no option but to agree to give Rumpelstiltskin her first born child.

Having completed the three tasks, the miller's daughter was made to marry the monstrous king (or his son the prince, in some versions).

My heart's always gone out to the daughter. Everyone around her betrayed her & got away without being suitably punished & I always found this deeply upsetting as a child.

The father's a foolish bragger. Rumpelstiltskin's a goblin & can be expected to behave badly but even he throws the girl a life-line by allowing her to keep her baby if she can guess his real name.

However, the king's a human with every advantage & the best of everything. I hate him for the 3 nights of terror he put her through & marrying her without asking her consent. I also judge him for being greedy enough to believe utter tripe.

I suppose this says an awful lot about me - maybe that I hate people who put me in impossible situations with no way out.

I don't like...well I don't really like any fairy tale character so I  can't really answer that. Maybe Cinderella or Snow White.

The Witch in Snow White. She still scares the S**t out of me. For some reason as a kid she scared me and since I've never liked her. even when I was 10 and went to Disney, the snow white ride made me cry?! My sister had a field day chiding me about that. To this day I still don't know the whole story of snow white, cause I've never been able to make it through the whole thing. lol
