I would like to pose a little poll for you guys. The N.L. Cy Young race is really only a four man race. I will post their stats, in no particular order, on here. I want you to vote on who has the best stats, because that is who should be the Cy Young, not on a good team. Please dont look up who holds these stats. Just vote on stats.

Person A) 16-5; 3.04 ERA; 161 K's; 76 BB's; 1.34 WHIP

Person B) 19-6; 3.19 ERA; 160 K's; 51 BB's; 1.17 WHIP

Person C) 15-8; 2.82 ERA; 208 K's; 52 BB's; 1.13 WHIP

Person D) 15-3; 2.43 ERA; 210 K's; 70 BB's; 1.18 WHIP

Out of those four, who would be your pick for Cy Young? I will post the names after I pick the best answer.

  1. Good way to phrase the question, and I think it should be person D.

  2. D because it is Tim Linecium from the Giants. I want Tim to win badly.

  3. Person C is Sabathia and I pick Him.

  4. I know who each guy is, but if i didnt and was just picking by stats I would honestly pick D. Not being biased at all.

  5. B. Brandon Webb. It's his to lose.

  6. C

  7. alright i didnt look up any names but i can tell whos stats those are...

Person A is edinson volquez and hes not CY YOUNG

Person B is brandon Webb he in my opinion is not CY YOUNG

Person C is CC Sabathia and he is my CY YOUNG no question

Person D is Tim Lincecum and he would come in 2nd in my opinion

  8. I'm thinking person B might win, he has done great, but I think person D is really good and deserves it. Person D is amazing =]

  9. You can't judge the CY YOUNG off of 5 stats. How about the fact that player D plays on a losing team? Or the fact that he has the third lowest run support in the majors? Player D deserves it because he simply doesn't lose many games. Only 3 losses on once again a losing team.

  10. D, my man ______, but it my be person B because _______ is on a team that can win cames, or maybe _______ is person A?

  11. Person D.

  12. D, what he is doing for that team is amazing he is the stopper on that team, whatever skid they are in ends when he's on the bump.

  13. person B because past voting history predicts the person with the most wins winning the cy young as long as their other numbers arent horrible.

but person D would be a great pick as well.  and should have more wins if his offense or bullpen were halfway decent.

  14. Person C.

His ERA & WHIP is the lowest

  15. A has a good record but too many walks and not enough ks

B has an excellent record has great control but his ERA is the highest among the four and doesn't have enough ks to make up for it

C has the lowest WHIP great control many ks and a below average ERA but has too many losses to be considered.

D is my pick altho he only has 15 wins he only has 3 losses he also has the lowest ERA and the most ks in the NL

  16. I like the way you posed this question, good job! My personal opinion would be person D. I do know who it is and I definitely want him to win. He goes out and pitches with everything he has everytime. His stats are obviously the best out of the bunch and I think he is the best pitcher in the majors. I don't want to say too much bc I don't wanna give it away, but this guy is amazing. However, I believe person B will probably win it. PERSON D ALL THE WAY THOUGH!!!!!

  17. Just from looking at the stats i think it would have to be Person B. Leading the win category and only behind in WHIP by .04 i think B would have to be the obvious choice if u just look at stats since K's aren't that important as long as you are still getting the outs.
