I would say its a tie between Barry Bonds and Gary Sheffield. Can you imagine getting those two on the same team?! Think of the destruction to team chemistry!!

  1. dont forget jeff kent, he is so arrogant.

  2. Bonds (like Sosa) is currently unemployed.  Of those with jobs, I'd be

tempted to nominate either Manny Ramirez or AJ Pierzinski.

  3. lou panellie

  4. Well before this year I would have said Milton Bradley.  But as a Ranger fan I can say he is a different man this year.  Now my two picks for worst team mate this year is Ramon Vasquez on my rangers.  He popped off saying how he really does not like the coaching staff because he doesn't get enough playing time.  Then the next game, goes out and has 3 errors.  But also has the game winning hit.  Then after the game on an interview for radio, has the nerve to tell the crown and fans, "Who ever was booing me at the game all I got to say is F*@K YOU"

And my second is Carlos Zambrano.  That man would fight his mother if he was mad enough.

  5. manny ramirez.

  6. Richie Sexson for forgetting about baseball once he signed a big contract? For  going after a pitcher aggresively for a pitcher throwing an inside pitch? I gotta vote for Richie Sexson.

  7. Manny Ramirez can crush the ball - but only if he wants to. I think a teammate that dogs it on purpose would be the worst teammate of all. But then again, that's Manny being Manny.

  8. There is also some other guy. Ramirez??? i think, he plays for a team in los angeles......

  9. People like the negative answerers here who are either fake fans, bandwagoners or jealous of Barry and his celebrity status and wealth dont know one bit of what goes on in the Giant's locker room and how he interacts with his ex teammates.  I was a frequent visitor to the locker rooms at Candlestick and PacBell/AT&T Parks through my place of employment (EA Sports) and observed he had his little corner of the locker rooms complete with amenities, but contrary to media reports, he never shut anyone out or never snobbed teammates or coaches.  He played cards with teammates, chatted with everyone, joked around, enjoyed music with the team and counseled younger players and rookies.

Also, his commute from the Los Altos Hills/Atherton area in the SF Peninsula was pretty tough getting to Candlestick or AT&T Park, but he was always on time for team meetings and BP.  Being on-time does not make a player bad, last I checked.....  If he had an air of acting like a primadonna about him, that's because he acted abrasively towards media types because he knew he was high profile and a target for any negative press from them, who in turn brainwashed the haters into remaining negative about Barry without researching the truth.

  10. I'm pretty sure that A.J. Peirzinski would win a least liked player in the MLB.  Even among his own teammates.  And to think that he was traded for Joe Nathan, Francisco Liriano and Boof Bonser.

  11. They are both pretty bad teammates. But they are friends so I don't think they would clash as much as you would think. I would probably go with Barry Bonds as the worst.

  12. I nominate Carl Pavano. This guy has been nothing but a money-sucking hog for the last four years. He made $40 million to make up injuries. His teammates don't take him seriously. Yankees management doesn't take him seriously. Yankees fans don't take him seriously. ESPN doesn't take him seriously.

    What a jerk.

  13. Jeff Kent he is the worst by far

  14. I would have to say that its Barry Bonds. Gary Sheffield gets annoying when he's not playing and the team is doing bad but Barry is in another level by himself.

  15. Erik Bedard

  16. Jeff Kent takes this one. As a Dodgers fan I hope he'll retire next year.

  17. if you are saying retired players (or at least players who are not playing right now like bonds) I am going to throw one out there...

    worst teammate ever-Jose canseco

  18. I'm going to have to go with Derek Jeter.  Refusing to give up his position to a FAR superior defensive shortstop was probably one of the most selfish me-first-s***w-the-team things I've ever seen a ballplayer do.  Add on the fact that the Yankees have spent over a BILLION dollars in payroll since he became the captain with absolutely ZERO World Series Rings to show for it.

Maybe he should have taken some leadership and teamwork lessons from guys like Tino, Paulie O, and Bernie.

  19. Roger Clemens

  20. manny ramirez...hes my pick because during all that ridiculous drama thing going on with him and the red sox front office...some red sox players even came to the front office and requested that he get traded...it would have to be really bad for your own teammates to do that to you

  21. milton bradley

  22. jeff kent

    barry bonds

    gary sheffield

    aj perzynski

    julian tavarez

  23. Barry Bonds

  24. kyle farnsworth, he just there to fight the team.

  25. I don't agree with your pick of Sheffield; he tends to have minor little "incidents" involving management, not his teammates.  He doesn't dog it, or pout, when he's not happy; he still plays hard, so he's ok in my book.  Manny Ramirez, on the other hand, gets traded from a hitter's park, to a pitcher's park, then all of a sudden turns into Ted Williams reincarnated?? That's bs.  He WAS dogging it in Boston. THAT is a bad teammate. (Plus he backhanded, Youkilis in the dugout, attacked a 60 yr old team employee over free tickets, and faked injuries to protest against his own mgr.....keep it classy, manny!)
