DO YOU THINK THE SURGE BROUGHT PEACE? THE SURGE DID NOT BRING PEACE TO IRAQ. THOSE SURGE SOLDIERS WERE LIMITED IN THE PLACES THEY COULD GO.  WHAT CAUSED PEACE WAS FIRST THE SHEA AND SUNNIES CALLED FOR A PEACE TREATY  AND THE OLD SHIEKS KICKED AL QUIDA OUT OF IRAQ. There was no "surge". It's bush newspeak. Can you imagine bush saying: occupation. There was no "shock and awe", there was Blitzkrieg.

That would be Obama in an interview will Bill O' Reilly.  That's about as close as we are ever going to get in getting Obama to admit he was wrong.  I guess it will do though.
