Who knew?? 1st, 2nd, 3rd or the 4th guy?

Question

the guys are standing in a straight line facing left. all four men are wearing hats there are 2 white hats and 2 black hats. One of the men has to say what hat they are wearing, if he gets it wrong they all will be killed. after a while one of the men says what hat he is wearing.

Guide lines

in between the first and the second person there is a wall so the first man can see no1 the second man can see a wall the third man can see the second man and the forth man can see the second and third man.

If the fourth guy can see the second and third man, he should be able to guess what hat the first man is wearing, unless he doesn&#039; t know which one he is wearing himself.

simple. If the 4th person sees 2 black hats in front of him then he knows he is wearing the white hat. same logic applies for opposite colors.

If after awhile the 4th person keeps mum then the 3rd person will know he is wearing a different color hat from the 2nd person so if the 2nd person is wearing a white hat then he will be wearing a black hat and vice versa.
