  1. drink a lot of plain water at least 3 liters per day

  2. the only TRUE way to prevent future kidney stones is to drink 2 liters of water a day. (Many of patient i have removed kidney stones, believed that it was impossible to drink that much a day) If you really think of it the average person drinks about 7-9 liters a day.

  3. You will want to ask the urologist about why he thinks you created stones in the first place.  With calcium based stones, there is a possiblity you have a metabolic problem affecting how you use calcium.  That being the case, a reoccurence is more highly probable.   In the meantime, your best best is to increase the amount of fluid you drink so that you are going to the bathroom at least every 3-4 hours at a minimum.  The longer urine spends in the kidneys or bladder, the higher the chance for the various chemicals to crystallize into stones.  The more fluid running through the pipes, the less likely that happens.  So for starters, you need a lot more fluid.  Water is not the only thing, the body obtains water from just about everything you drink and eat.  You can try the cranberry juice blends, as that can help reduce bacteria numbers, but it's not a miracle drink, and it's still mostly the water doing the work.  To determine if you need to watch the calcium and other minerals in the diet, though, you need to speak with the urologist and maybe an internal medicine/endocrinologist as well.

  4. Hey there you wonderfull creature!!  Definitely you need to drink more than enough fluids buddy ........  at least 2 - 3 litres of fresh filtered water daily ...... water and fresh juices dilute your urine, discouraging kidney stones from forming....... When Harvard researchers tracked beverage consumption and kidney stone risk among 81,000 female nurses for 8 years, they found that as the women's fluid intake went up, their chances of developing stones went down..... Even if you get another stone you should drink more fluids to help flush it out.

Cut out alcohol, soft drinks, pop and sodas if you drink any too as they will all dehydrate you terribly ........  cut right back on caffeinated drinks such as coffee and tea also as these will also dehydrate you as well as doing a fine job of robbing you of your precious B complex of vitamins which are so essential for healthy neural, immune and digestive functioning....  Some studies show that vitamin B6 (part of the B complex) helps keep kidney stones from recurring............  take it as a daily preventative ie ~ don't buy any of the B complex of vitamins individually but rather as a whole complex ie ~ get a liquid supplement (easiest for your body to assimilate) containing all the B's as they work best as a group ie ~ B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12 and folic acid etc...... simply follow the instructions on the bottle.

Please also ensure that whichever supplement you decide to buy doesn't contain any lactose, wheat, yeast, gluten, preservatives or flavorings, sugar or yeast as none of these have any place in a good quality supplement anyways.

Steer clear of apple and grapefruit juice... In another Harvard study involving 45,000 male health professionals, both apple juice and grapefruit juice appeared to increase kidney stone risk.

Squeeze fresh lemon juice into your water each time you have a glass  ..... drink it through a straw to protect the enamel on your teeth ..... lemon juice contains citric acid, which helps prevent the formation of calcium oxalate crystals in urine.... limes are another good source of citric acid.............  and they will both bolster liver functioning and alkalise your system......  even though they have an acidic taste to them they are very good for you because they create an alkaline environment in your body and will also get your digestive juices flowing (they will increase the production of hydrochloric acid in your tummy and aid digestion) and thus help regulate any constipation you may have.

The herb stinging nettle is an herb very high in vitamin K, which guards against excessive bleeding. Nettle improves kidney function and  neutralizes uric acid, preventing its crystallization, aiding in its elimination from the system, thus relieving gout and arthritis. Nettle is useful as a tea for anemic children, due to its nutritive value. Nettle is also high in minerals such as iron, calcium, sulfur, sodium, copper, manganese, chromium, and silicon. Nettle is also used as an astringent to help stop bleeding and to reduce menses flow. Nettle is also a blood purifier and assists in lowering blood pressure.

Go get yourself some of the loose leaf, organic variety of the herb from the health food store and put 1 - 2 teaspoons full into a teapot and top with hot water.... leave to brew for 10 - 15 minutes.

♥♥♥ Only organic will do mate as the commercial varieties have had so much of the goodness pulverised from them that they could never be of any therapeutic benefit ......  besides, the organic loose leaf variety is so rich in its essential oils that you can refill the pot with hot water after you've finished one pot and reuse it.... so you really do get your moneys worth...... drink it with some organic honey to taste if it is too bland for you or squeeze lemon juice into it. One pot per day should suffice.... make sure you brush your teeth thoroughly 2 or 3 times per day also as the herb may stain your teeth a bit otherwise.  Ã¢Â™Â¥Ã¢Â™Â¥Ã¢Â™Â¥

Include loads and loads and loads of plant based foods in your diet ie ~ leafy and green vegies and low sugar fruits, grains and pulses....... Becauase urea is a waste product of protein metabolism, a high protein diet featuring lots of meat and dairy products can contribute to kidney stone formation...... on the other hand, a near vegetarian, high fibre diet can help prevent stones.

The leafy and green vegies are also rich in Magnesium and magnesium slows the formation of calcium oxalate crystals in urine.............  organic loose leaf nettle tea is also a rich source of magnesium.........  wholegrain breads and grains such as brown rice and fish such as tuna and salmon are also rich sources of magnesium buddy..........  eat more magnesium rich foods mate, magnesium is known as the antistress mineral ...........  ;0)

i hope this helps u a bit buddy
