I'm flying home for thanksgiving and have two kittens, now about four months old. Thanksgiving is a bit too long to leave them home alone (they still consume about their body weight in food :p) I was wondering if anyone had experience about flying with cats/kittens. The flight is about an hour and a half. I just need to buy my ticket home and would like to know if it's a good idea to take them with me ore not.

  1. most airlines will let you have them in an approved carrier and you check them as carry-on luggage, Ive also been on planes with ppl who have taken cats.

the easiest thing is to call your local airport (or the one your planning to fly with..) and ask them.

  2. You probably will want to go to the vet and see if you can get a small sedative dose for your cat. You have to remove the cat from the carrier case and walk through security with him. There will be a lot of people and noise and he will be very freaked out. If you think he will totally spazz out, ask to go through the private room with him.
