Question:

Who knows any good volleyball drills that I can do at home to help my aim and general ball control?

I have to practice outside, but it's on really flat ground. Just to tell you that. I don't have anything I could use as a gym. Anyway, I need to work on my aim when I bump the ball. I am okay at controlling the ball when I set, but any drills to help with my setting would be welcome too. My family is usually pretty busy, but I could probably get my dad to help if there is a good 2 person drill. I am only at middle school level but I am on the advanced team and we are allowed to spike the ball and stuff.

Thanks in advance for your help; our next game is this coming Tuesday and I really want to get some practice in over the weekend.

  1. If you have a side of a house you can use , that would be a big help.

Get 3 pieces of duct tape, pick some places where you would like the ball to hit, and put the piece of duct tape on that spot and practice bumping to hit them.

If you have no wall ,

if you can , get a box and put it about 10 feet ahead of you,

try bumping the ball in a big arch so it drops into the box, move the box to different spots and try targeting other places.

If you have you're dad, he could be the target also.

He could try throwing it to you and you bump it back to him, that would be the better because in a game you never throw it up in the air and then hit it.

    Hope This Helps !!

  2. Set a basketball or any other weight ball like a basketball.Lay on the ground like you are going 2 do push ups and then set the basketball.Hope this helps. Also don't swing your arms when you pass, use your legs!!!!!!!!!

  3. Do setting sit-ups.

Not only will it help your abs, but it REALLY helps your setting control.

As long as you keep your arms straight up at all times, and keep your face toward the ceiling, you should have no problem.

Or, you could simply hit the ball against the floor.  Practice your swing and try to follow through the same way every time.

  4. just bump with one arm and it really helps like bump as many times as u can with one arm on the left then rite then left then rite... u get it and bend ur arms and dont swing... :)

  5. Okay what I do is  usually bump against the side of my house and try to make it really challenging. Dive and everything what you can do on a wall u can do better during the game. Setting, if you have a basketball hoop you can set into it. If u dont have a basket ball hoop just get a bucket and try to get it to land into it. The bucket is harder because you sometimes tend not to set as high. Good luck on ur game

  6. you get your dad to throw the ball to you but not directly at you. this will help you move to the ball so you're not diving left and right like a rag doll. it's better to get your feet to the ball rather than dive because then you'll have better control. bumping the ball against the wall can help, you could use a target and keep hitting there, you can try that from different angles or distances.

    hope i helped
